Hayward pump motor turning but impeller is frozen

Hi guys,

here's a video that I shot for my brother this morning, but thought I would post it here and see if I could get any help.

Background: -- The pump is only a year old.

The motor itself does NOT buzz, and sound is perfect condition.

Well, what happened when he removed the front screws and exposed the volute? Problem solved?

So, I'm a dope

I realized after I posted the video, that what I was trying to rotate in that video was NOT the impeller, but the cover.

I removed the cover, that was held on with 2 screws...... and realized the problem is elsewhere.

( the impeller seems to have come loose from the motor shaft )

problem solved. I was able to remove the impeller and purchase a new one today.

I'll be removing the videos now. If moderator wishes, please remove the thread as I had incorrectly titled the subject content. I thought it was frozen and it was not.
