1,700 Gallon Pool: How long until I can add chlorine?

Hi!

Fresh fill of 1,300 gallons + 400 gallons of clear water that was in the winterized pool. I've just added 6 oz of CYA to my 1,700 gallon pool.

I've used my pool brush to dissolve it.

How long do I wait to add chlorine?

When can I turn on the salt water generator?

How long until CYA shows up on test?

1700 gallons? Or 17000 gallons? You can and should add chlorine immediately. And probably need to test daily and add chlorine as needed.

You can add liquid chlorine now.

When can I turn on the salt water generator?

What is your water temperature?

What is your salt level?

What SWG do you have?

If you have the proper amount of salt and your water temp is above 60F you can turn on the SWG now.

How long until CYA shows up on test?

CYA takes a while to dissolve. I would not believe the CYA test for at least a week. Especially if the water is cold.
