Hello,
Purchased my first home and it comes with a first pool.
I’ve ran through a number of the pool school courses and purchased the TFPro test kit to start getting a handle on upkeep.
The prior owner was a serial “puck” user and mentioned a number of times he would just continually shock...
So after a long period of unemployment, and recently getting a job, I’d hoped to save my pool from having been a bog. Got it blue for a while but it was always cloudy and after finally using HTH green to blue (which I shouldn’t have since I have a single Hayward cartridge and not a backwash...
EDITED as I found a paper from the original build in 1989!
Please help me figure out how many gallons this amoeba-shaped "sports" pool is!
Length: 35 ft
Width at widest part: 15.5 ft
Shallow on both ends: 3.5 ft
Deep end in the middle: 6 ft
Using online calculations, I *think* it's 12,500...
Draining my pool to fill it fresh after algae, but is a shop vac vacuuming over the wall the best way to get whatever remains in those last few inches of water below the drain port? Figure that's probably the worst of the worst in that water, and my little handheld pool vacuum says it needs to...
I had a hole in my wall this year that I have to repair. So I've drained my pool, and will either repair or replace the wall.
It's an above ground 12x24 oval with a flat bottom, 54" sides. water is probably 48" on average during the season.
I haven't looked inside the walls yet, because I...
Hi all,
I have a few things going on, hoping you can help make sure I’m on the right path.
Bought a TF-100 kit and did these tests today:
Alk: 60ppm (will raise tonight with sodium bicarbonate)
CYA: 40ppm
PH: 7.8
Chlorine: was high but I shocked yesterday
CH: 525
Last year I had my pool...
Pool is about 2+ years old. Never had an issue but when I turned the spa on yesterday the entire spa drained into the pool.
The only change I made in recent weeks was adjusting valve C manually, I usually turn this all the way down when kids are in the pool so the suction from the vacuum is...
My in laws pool is pretty green and has a lot of debris at bottom. Should I drain it or can I get it blue without draining. We live in DFW area Allen TX. So not sure if I have to worry about it popping out. It's a concrete/plaster pool.
I've been stuck for the past couple of days trying to figure this out.
I use a proper test kit to test levels and all other levels check out. I also use my local pool shop to test when my CYA drops below 30 since this can't be tested in the liquid Taylor kit that I use (if I assume 0, then I...
Hi there! Sorry in advance for the long post.
I've been deep in Pool School for a couple of weeks and am finally starting the balancing process today. We recently purchased a home with a salt water pool; the previous owner walked us through his care routine when we got the keys in Feb. He told...
