    Animal ate through Dolphin cord

Unrelated to the other thread I just posted (this happened several days after it stopped working): an animal chewed through the blue chord, exposing some of the wires underneath. I've currently got it wrapped up in Gorilla tape and the robot is operating the same as it was before, but has anyone...

Help: Dolphin initializes then turns off

My Dolphin recently started malfunctioning. When I turn it on, it goes forward about 6 feet, backward about 4, then stops and turns off. The power supply remains on and seems to think it's running. Any ideas what the issue could be?

Turn unused vac line to suction side poolskim

It's actually working really well. Once I set up a couple elbows to lower the height it's better than my normal skimmer, honestly. I'll try to put up a video here soon. The only thing I didn't like is that, like a regular skimmer, the grid to block debris is pretty open, so I added some panty...

It's been about a week, did that resolve your issue?

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

muzy, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe she originally had this issue in June and one of the first things she did was have them send her a replacement filter box / filters and she kept having the same issue. If the problem is an imperfection in the shell casing or something like that, no...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

it's more of a workaround than an actual resolution, but have you tried wrapping the outer filter basket (not the rough one) in skimmer socks? They may catch any hair that either gets through the filter or makes it between the corners if that's what is happening

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

I think he has the upgraded basket that's normally only standard in higher-end models and allows 2 separate filters at the same time: the rough filter for leaves and big objects and the ultrafine filter for smaller things. Marina Pool and Spa will upgrade for free if you ask for it when buying...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

hmm. I have to admit that's a little concerning to me. My wife, 2 kids, and I all have long hair. I'm old enough that I "shed" :) . We also have 2 dogs. They don't swim, but they spend hours every day near the pool and one is a Pomeranian. We're in the "super clean" season right now, but once...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

ooh. good point. I will mention this. wait... aren't the pleated ones the ultra fine and the screen ones the rough ones? Or is there something else that I'm missing? She said she's already installed the ultra fine, so that would mean she's got the pleated? Now I'm getting confused lol. Anyway...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

good point. in replies to that same post she mentions picking up the ultra fines based on someone's suggestion. In response to my question on the recent post she said she's got ultra fines installed now. Of course, I have no way of verifying this and she hasn't posted pictures of that. I told...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

I also dug up this image from a post she made back in July, though it doesn't seem very helpful. Apparently the first basket she received wasn't sealing properly so Maytronics sent her a new one but she's obviously continuing to have issues.

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

I'll tell her to come here and post this stuff, but I don't think she's even a member of this site / may not even know it exists. I don't know her personally, and am only acting on what I saw in a different group because the situation both bothers me as a consumer and person that cares about...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

Per an image she posted, the official response from Maytronics appears to be: To me, this sounds like contacting Toyota about having to replace the car battery every month and being told "replacing car batteries is regular maintenance for all of our cars. If you drive the car with lots of...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

She has the ultrafine filters. I'm getting confirmation about the filter being dirty. If we assume it's not dirty, do you have anything to suggest to her? It sounds like Maytronics support is refusing to acknowledge there possibly being anything wrong with the robot. I've got to admit, as a new...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

Yeah, that was a question / suggestion I posed to her, and don't know the answer to yet. I have to admit that I'm shocked by how poor the responses from Maytronics seems to be. Assuming she's being forthright about their full communications, they literally told her that hair going through the...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

First off, this post is not for me, but is seeking advice to try to help someone that made a post in a FB robotic pool cleaners group. She recently bought a Dolphin T45, which looks like an S200 with a lot of bells and whistles. According to her it is a) not leaving her pool clean and more...

Turn unused vac line to suction side poolskim

What I ended up doing was buying an above ground skimmer that has a floating vertical weir. Instead of using the supplied hose, which let it just float away since there's no wall to use their clamps on, I jerry-rigged it into my inlet with the inlet attachment from my suction side, some 1" sched...

    Ghostlight (our Maytronics S200) died

I just bought an Active 20 from Marina on Saturday, and I assume they still have some in stock since they didn't warn me about running low on that model. It should arrive tomorrow and is identical to the S200 and Warrior SE. I had already done a ton of research, but they confirmed most of this...

Turn unused vac line to suction side poolskim

Anyone know of a product like the poolskim that works on the suction side? I just upgraded from a suction side cleaner to a robot and would like to convert my vacuum port into a second skimmer since the first one doesn't do a good job on its own.

    PoolCleaner Help

If I can leave it in all the time and there's no significant risk of damage from debris then it could very well work for me. The last time I looked, which was 6 years ago, they had to be put in and out of the pool manually every day (or at least it was very strongly recommended / your warranty...

    PoolCleaner Help

Thank you for the advice, I'll look into it! Unfortunately, I have several concerns with any of the robotic cleaners: 1) Both my personality and lifestyle/schedule don't lend themselves well to doing something like manually putting a cleaner into or out of the pool on a daily or more frequent...

Solar Skimmer robot - has anyone purchased this model - scam ?

I like the idea of the clean surface and not having to stay on top of the pool several times a day to have that (I also have multiple live oaks, plus a couple palm trees that just love to dump leaves, pollen, and palm nuts into the pool. Unfortunately, spending $2-500+ / year just to maintain...

    PoolCleaner Help

I have an ~6 year old ThePoolCleaner (Poolvergnuegen FWIW). In the last couple weeks, one of the 2 wheels has started coming off the body. The plastic "hub cap" that holds the wheel on occasionally pops out and the wheel falls off altogether, but even when it's on it's very wobbly, and often...

Solar Skimmer robot - has anyone purchased this model - scam ?

That ad is a scam, but that's a picture of a solar breeze, as others have said. I had one for a while. My take is that it's a really good idea that was implemented poorly. It worked pretty well, not mind-blowing, but good enough, for several months. Then the battery failed and it would no longer...

    Solar Breeze NX Kickstarter/Pre-Order

Not much. I'd say it needs about an inch of water, possibly less. I have a tanning ledge as well and it works fine there. However, it definitely collects better in open water. For pretty obvious reasons, anything right along the wall tends to not get picked up. My signature is outdated. I...

    Solar Breeze NX Kickstarter/Pre-Order

I got mine about a week ago. I like it, but am not blown away right now. It essentially does what it says it will do, but I have a couple issues: * It constantly gets stuck on my Poolcleaner's hose This often keeps it in one place collecting nothing until someone comes out to rescue it. I'll...

    Solar Breeze NX Kickstarter/Pre-Order

I think they're only $5k away now! Hopefully a few more people jump on it so it becomes real. They're throwing in a free battery replacement to kickstarter backers as well.

    Solar Breeze NX Kickstarter/Pre-Order

I ordered one with the extra filters as well. They're something like 83% to their target goal now. They just need a few more people to order them! Everything I've read about them is good, so I'm really hoping this goes through as it would be perfect for my pool. It sits in the Florida sun all...

Pool Cleaners You Can Leave in 24/7/

I wound up going with a The Pool Cleaner that I got for a pretty good price on Amazon, along with a Hayward large-sized leaf catcher to keep the junk from getting into my plumbing. I'd like to upgrade to a robot sometime in the future, but I'm waiting for them to become a little more autonomous...

    Harmony Robotic cleaners?

2.ooohhh I'm definitely interested in hearing about how well the Harmony works, so keep us updated! From looking at the numbers, it sounds like a viable solution, even if the salt cells die after a year or so as long as they remain available for around $250.
