Are you sure it's the dolphin triton PS? Not sure what you mean by "propeller" as mine doesn't have one. It does have a discharge chute on the top of the unit and looks like this.

I used it once. Problem is you have to be standing pretty close to the, in my case, caddy/controller (I have a dolphin) for it to work and it isn't as easy as driving a car or a drone (there is lag).

Pretty sure it won't. Once it starts sucking air it will seek deeper water. Ours has never cleaned the sun shelf. It's gotten up on it but then starts sucking air and does an immediate about face.
