    Trouble with Stains

A few days of readings but these stains have been here for a while. Old pool replastered 4 years ago. Tried rubbing the puck too, nothing. I had to add some calcium because levels were staying low. I did have to slam at the beginning of the summer I think stains were already there 8/10...

    Trouble with Stains

I have a large area with discoloration and it is only on the shallow end 5ft and less. It doesn't come up with brushing so I tried putting a puck in, left it for 30 min and nothing, got in and scrapped it on the bottom and it didn't streak. Some kids were able to scrape their initials on the...

SWG would have more upkeep than going with liquid chlorine correct? Especially if I have it set up on pumps. Seems like the majority of people on this site recommend going with liquid.

2 questions, I just tried to use the (see below) for the first time to read my FC. Using the powder seemed a little tricky to me, should the test sample turn solid pink or should it just have a shade of pink? I was on the 6th scoop and it wasnt turning pink, so I stopped assuming I was doing...

    In the Swim Chlorine Tabs

Not sure when I will be able to install an automated system for liquid chlorine so I was back at pool store this morning. I took some of my own readings yesterday to compare to pool store. I took my readings before backwashing and adding to gallons of bleach to avoid raising the cya. my...

    In the Swim Chlorine Tabs

Ok, I've called about 6 local pool stores/builders and no one handles installing a liquid chlorine system. I've looked at a few of the DIY projects on here, are there any that have a ORP system with two pumps for chlorine and acid. Might have to do this on my own.

The Taylor one that is recommended by this site. Yes I am still using tabs, I lowered the setting on the chlorinator now. I am assuming I would have to pour a lot of bleach everyday which is possible just not efficient.

you say that about the public pool, they had bottles and bottles of phos free and algaecide in their shed. Retested water today and it looks like I have CYA about 140 still after I drained and refilled, also got about an inch of rain. Chlorine might be locked out to bc Im getting no readings...

Refresh hypo- granules shock, yes I read about the disapproval of using algeacide. Yes we get quite a bit of rain which keeps me from having to add city water most of the time. The pool store did tell me they had a lot of reports of our city water having high concentrations of stabilizer in...

Well since we went off a little, I went to our local city water park to see their system they are using (thinking it would be liquid chlorine). They are using pucks with a hayward cat2000 ph/orp system with the acid being injected with a stenner pump, they have a lazy river connected to a pool...

I know of most everyone on this forum has done a DIY if they have an automated liquid chlorine system but, if I were to pay someone to do it, what do you think would be a reasonable price? $3k?

Wouldn't the SWCG require more maintenance that an automated liquid chlorine injection system?

    Chlorine tabs/ Liquid Chlorine

Ok, Im doing some research to figure out what it would cost me per month to switch from tabs and granular shock to straight liquid chlorine. I can get a 55 gal drum of 12.5% for $135, does this sound reasonable anyone? Should I consider any other chemical cost if I switch to liquid chlorine?

    Chlorine tabs/ Liquid Chlorine

So lets say I decided to go with the liquid chlorine automation, am I safe to get a stenner pump and just adjust the tube size for flow rate? Is the 3 gpd considered a lot or should I go up a size in pump?
