Is SWCG a good fit for my pool

You should be fine. Typical pool store response. If you want a second opinion and better quote, call John Howard @ Accent Pools in Lebanon, PA (not sure if Middletown is in his territory though) he recommended the SWCG for our pool build.

How does SWG do in cooler climates?

Takes me about 10 min tops to brush to dissolve. Don't just leave it on the bottom.

How does SWG do in cooler climates?

Yep just dump the bags in the deep end and brush to dissolve. Some say turn off the SWG while you do this.

How does SWG do in cooler climates?

Howdy neighbor. After the initial salt "seeding" I put roughly 4 to 5 40lb bags per season. Mainly due to adding water my Golden Retrievers carry out when they swim. I just buy pool salt at the local Agway. I've been trouble free since discovering TFP! Dry as a bone out here. Brief rain...

How does SWG do in cooler climates?

Depending on your model SWG stops producing below between 50 and 60 water temp. But who's swimming in those temps. During the swimming season my SWG is great (Lancaster County). Certainly not going to trade it for handling liquid chlorine daily because it stops producing in cold weather. Go for...

    Salt test

And are you using the SpeedStir? I struggled with the salinity test without it. 17 drops to when it goes "milky salmon" = 3400 ppm, btw, that's generally the target.

Chlorine pucks or Salt water chlorine generators?

SWCG. I believe TFP is a no Puck zone. But I'll let the experts weigh in.

Not enough room for SWG - is it worth it?

Totally worth it. I used just over a gallon of MA last season. How much bleach did you use? Go for it.

SWCG Reduced Efficiency as it Ages?

Believe the K-1766. Last week I noticed lower chlorine output, tested and I was at 2600. Add 40 wait a day then test again.

    SWGs and phosphates?

OK fine. Thanks. Quick recap. I had suddenly been struggling last year to keep FC within line with my 1 yr old SWG - FC was < 1 even with 100% setting (prior yr I could maintain with 20% to 40% 12 hrs a day no problem) - CYA was around 60 but that was close enough that it should have not been...

    SWGs and phosphates?

Had a similar issue last summer when my IC20 SWG (1 yr old pool) could not keep up even running all day @ 100. My pool installer (doesn't sell chemicals) told me to check for phosphates and indeed, I was over 2400ppm. I put in the required phos remover and got that knocked back to 0. Within a...
