    Adding salt via inline chlorinator

You could replace the in-line chlorinator with a salt chlorine generator. As far as the salt, you'd add that all at once into the pool up to the salinity required for your generator. Here's a link that might be helpful...

    Automatic PH Control

I have Pentair’s IntelliPH (basically a stenner pump). It’s usually sold with IntelliChem, but you don’t need it. I just bought IntelliPH, and am happy with it. It’s likely more money than a Stenner, but more plug and play. Might be worth looking into, but might not be worth the extra $...

    Saltwater Pools in the Winter

I’m in Austin. Pool water gets too cold for at most for 2 months of the year. I bought a 4 pack of liquid chlorine (4 gallons total), I doubt I’ll need all 4 by the time my water heats back up. My pool is 20,000 gallons. Salt chlorine generators all the way!

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

Dirk - I thought the reason they "talked" to each other was so IntelliPH could tell the salt cell not to produce while it was injecting acid. My acid injection is just before the cell. Does it matter if the cell is producing when acid is being injected?

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

To close the loop here for anyone else searching the forums in the future. Soon after noticing this issue, my Intelliph board fried for the 2nd time. Now Pentair says the IC60 draws too much current for the Intelliph. They swapped out my IC60 for an IC40. My pool is 20,000 gallons, so no...

IC60 Flow Switch Questions (Bogus Reading then No Reading)

There can be. If you go to your IntelliCenter touch screen. Go to Settings -> Alerts and Notifications-> IntelliChlor. You’ll see several options. If you select Cold Water Cutoff Alarm, the iOS app will show that it went into cold water mode. My app told me this morning, but now it’s warmed...

IC60 + IntelliPH not compatible? Need help.

I have it already. Thanks for the idea.

IC60 + IntelliPH not compatible? Need help.

Oh, and if Intellichem would work, can I ignore the sensor values and just manually set acid dosing and IC60 %?

IC60 + IntelliPH not compatible? Need help.

The board on my IntelliPH fried for the second time in about a year. The warranty service company came out today and is now telling me that Pentair says the IC60 pulls too much current for the IntelliPH and Pentair wants to swap out my IC60 for an IC40. Would an IC40 work? Sure, but I’m not...

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

I checked that too. It does not. No salt measurement right after acid dosing

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

Oh, I also have IntelliPH. IC60 plugs into that, then IntelliPH connects to IntelliCenter

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

Yes. It stays in pool mode all day, then spa for the last 1/2 hour. I guess I’ll just monitor it

So is my power supply about to fail?

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

Just tried it again. Low flow for about 3 mins, then back up. Flow light just goes from red to green. No salt measurement.

20 secs or so. I’ll try longer now

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

I wondered if that was the case, so I purposely lowered the pump speed until the low flow light came on, then increased it. It did not go into measurement mode.

    IC60 Measuring Salt Level Often

I happened to glance at my IC60 the other day and I noticed it was in salt measuring mode. The manual states that it checks every 12 hours or right after powering up. Neither of those were true at the time. Since then, I’ve been looking at the reported salt level in my IntelliCenter app. It...

    Salt level on IC60

If it’s below 2,800 or over 4,500, you’ll get a warning light. No exact reading.

Help me calculate if SWG is big enough for my pool

Yes. IC60 user here with a 20,000 gallon pool. The cell’s life is rated in number of hours of usage. So, oversized will last longer too. I run my pump 9 hours a day and can generate 4.5 ppm in that time. Bigger gives you more flexibility for (usually) a small bump in price.

    Preventing scale on a SWG

Ok then. So, my IntelliPH doesn’t mitigate the scaling risk at all?

    Preventing scale on a SWG

If I have an Intelliph installed right before my SWG that pumps in a little acid every hour, do I have to keep my CSI slightly negative to reduce scale on my SWG? Or can I safely run my CSI a little positive (still staying below .30)?

How big is too big in SWCG capacity?

I don’t see any downside. That’s the conclusion I made when I got the IC60 for my 20,000 gallon pool. I couldn’t be happier. I have tons of flexibility. I run my pool 9 hours a day. Even I the summer, that allows me to create more chlorine than I normally would use (at 100%). Oops, I...

    Salt residue soaking through Leuder

Yes, keep your chlorine levels in that range at all times. It is safe to swim up to slam levels. No harm in running high, but running on the low side can lead to problems

    Salt residue soaking through Leuder

If your chlorine is at 3, it not high. In fact it’s at the minimum for your CYA level. You are flirting with danger. I would raise it.

15 Jugs of Chlorine, and what do you get?

Because they can. Too much business for them to handle anyway. So, why not refuse something that they think will cause harm and thus create a warranty claim? I bet many will do it during the next recession when they need to listen to their customers better.

SWG vs Chlorine not making sense

I think you meant to say: Started with 6.5 +Produced 1 FC in two days -Lost 2 FC in two days =Ended with 5.5 Which means you only lose 1ppm per day. And your question is why are you only using 1 ppm per day? Being in San Antonio, that does seem low. Does your pool receive a lot of sun? You...
