Here is ours. With a Grecian shaped pool, we have to inset the reel to the edge of the rectangle, and adjust the cover straps accordingly. Kind of a pain, but it mostly works ok.

The skimmer sock doesn't get sucked through the basket because it's porous enough to let all the water through, but will trap small leaf and dirt particles that would otherwise fit through the strainer holes.
