Xtreme power 3/4 hp pump can i run 2 skimmers - 2 returns?

Yeah. It is aimed away the skimmer is upstream of it. In the past I've had more powerful pumps that would whirlpool a pool like this so I didn't think a lot about it when I put the skimmer in where it's at plus I put it basically where the OEM skimmers were. Maybe instead of a second skimmer...

Xtreme power 3/4 hp pump can i run 2 skimmers - 2 returns?

So we bought a 18-ft x 42 Bestway pool from Sam's which we are loving. automatically of course I scrapped the crappy pump that came with it and ponied up another $160 for a better sand filter / pump combo going with the 2400 gph xtremepower 3/4 hp with 26 inch sandfilter. I also blocked off...

Need help choosing a ladder/stairs... Might be overthinking it

Ill never have in pool steps again. EVER. Reasons: 1. Every year you got to take them out to winterize, especially if pool freezes. They are a royal pain to take out because of the weight. It takes two or three people to get them out depending on the size of the ones that you...

    Bestway Pool modifications

Moved from here. Hey. Im here looking for same information. I have an 18x48 Bestway pool I'm putting up and I've already bought the Hayward skimmer. I've done this twice before on the Intex version of the pools and I imagine the skimmer itself is going to be no different on the install what...

Can't dig to level yard due to utility lines buried across entire yard!!! What now???

dang... that stinks. what I would do: 1. Call utility companies 2. Be the nicest, sweetist booty kissing person you can be (dont be ashamed, its how the world works, you get more flies with honey, its a game learn to play it and you would be surprised at what you can get done) I once got...

How much space needed to erect a metal walled AGP?

when I had my buried doughboy oval installed on our sloped back yard last year, they only left about 18 inches between pool wall and dirt. when they built pool, they laid down the track and buttresses, then they stood INSIDE the pool while they put up the walls. so they didnt even really need...

Water on cover... Leave it or pump off?

Do you guys leave water on top of cover during the winter or keep it pumped off? I've got 4 inches of water on top of my cover, it is doing a good job of keeping it weighted down. Any harm in leaving it til I open next year? Thanks!

    Pool closing this weekend!

Fill pool to top of skimmers (mines buried, no draining), bring to shock level, put in Aquador plugs and return plugs, drain hard lines, blow out as much water as possible with air compressor, drain sand filter and pump. Put 6 way valve on winterize, Cover with winter cover. That's my plan.

Thoughts on this setup for winter cover....

Came with the pool. The covers just snap off with a "pull back toward you and up" motion You can see them in this pic. I simply popped them off, put cover on, and popped them back on. [/IMG]

Thoughts on this setup for winter cover....

Actually, I am using the cable tie too, and it's tight. 70 mph winds so far, it will ballon up some, but not too bad. I actually used caps to help with ballooning vs hanging bleach bottles or using bungees. Other thoughts? Thanks!

Winter cover drain - anyone use one?

Thanks for the link. I found Aquador plugs for my skimmers that cover the hole. I have not bought the cover drain yet... Trying to decide if I want to do that or just let water sit on cover and pump it off in spring. Do these drains get all the water off or just in spots?

Thoughts on this setup for winter cover....

Been trying to figure out how I'm going to anchor cover on this pool.... Stumbled across this idea on a whim.... Using rail caps to secure cover. Allowed enough extra inside pool for expansion when cover fills with rainwater/ snow so it won't rip. Thoughts? [/IMG]

Above Ground Pool w/half deck....Need Cover!

I have similar issue, except my deck is concrete. I hope I left enough room to tuck cover between concrete and pool. Its gonna be close. If not my back up plan is to buy some of those fillable tubes for inground pool covers that you fill with water and use them to weight down the cover on top...

In cold climates is a pool antifreeze advised?

unless its buried like mine. my lines are all underground, and while I bought skimmer plugs and have return plugs, and plan on blowing out the lines with compressed air, im still wondering if I should do antifreeze in case I dont get all the water out.

    Help! Crazy pool install!

cant tell from your pics, but is it a doughboy pool or another brand rated for burial? if so, id use that pile of dirt and bury that sucker, it would look good! my doughboy pool is buried 34 inches deep on one side, 18 inches on the other. i love it!

Winter cover drain - anyone use one?

thanks for the reply Mr.mat. Fortunately I have only evergreens around me so leaves on the cover is of no concern to me. I do wonder how im going to plug my skimmers though, as I have the doughboy skimline skimmers that have the vac hole underneath the skimmer opening. Even I if I get an...

Winter cover drain - anyone use one?

I have saw these drains that install in the center of the winter cover and have a line that runs through the return opening to drain water outside the pool, and am curious if anyone uses / has used them and how well the work. Also, for an oval pool like mine, would i do one in the center of the...

    Other options to wood/composite deck?

how much of a slope is that where you have the retaining wall? hard to tell from pic, but if its got more of a slope, you could build that retaining wall up closer to pool, and higher, fill with dirt and do concrete around that one side of pool like I did mine. granted, my pool was buried 30...

Video showing how clear your pool can be!

thats classic of a pool stored pool. Im not sure what causes it, maybe FC too low, CYA too high... maybe both, but every person I know with a pool stored pool dreads the rain because they go green every time. I wake up and see it raining, my biggest concern is: How am I going to test and put...

Slideshow of 16 x 32 Doubghboy AGP installed in the ground

thanks. its been a heckuva chore to get this pool done. no wrinkles at all. our builder sold us on the deep middle as not only will it create more usable shallow end, but he said the liner will last longer as it has a more even pull from all sides with the deep end in the middle. less...

Slideshow of 16 x 32 Doubghboy AGP installed in the ground

I did the same pool, and am still finishing it up. my builder would not sink the pool any deeper than 30 inches, as warranty would have been voided, so we had to step up when we poured our concrete deck for ours. One thing you may want to look at is how I built some custom step braces out of...

    He did what???

yup, just take it off and replace it or fix it. On my Doughboy pool the instructions say I can take up to 3 top rails, rail caps, and coping strips off in one area at a time before structural integrity of the pool is compromised. By taking those off, the support attached becomes loose, so its...
