My pool growing up was in a windy spot. We used old pool chemical bottles filled with water and strung them to grommets on the edge of the cover. We had probably 25 bottles around the edge(16 x36) weird size I know, but this worked reasonably every year.

Rich D, Thanks for the detailed response. I just have one or two questions. The side by the deck will be extended and won’t have to worry about the 48” boundary (opens up to house and will have door alarm). So on this side is it ok to backfill to grade in that section then slope the ground...

what About drylok? Pool installer recommended that. Will that work?

Pool company said to use something similar so I guess this is the route I’m going to go. I plan on sloping the ground away from the pool and draining to the low side with the black pipe with holes. Thanks for your input!

This is what I’m working with. Doesn’t seem too bad at all, guy did an awesome job digging in my opinion. So the plan was for some corrugated pipe on the deck side draining to the bottom, should work right? 2nd thought, should I spray the side of pool before it is back filled with some dirt...

15 x 30 oval 54 inch deep heritage pool. I can post pictures tomorrow after the dig... but help me sleep tonight... there is probably a way to mitigate future water damage right?
