The 2 inches should not be a problem as long as the ground is level. Under my pool, I put a layer of foam (foam puzzle mats). Would highly recommend that, so you get a nice soft bottom. If you add that under the pool itself, that will also take some off the 2 inches.

A larger pump is never a bad idea. I have a very small pool 4 x 2 x 1 m. and have also replaced with a larger sandfilter pump. The benefit is huge, because you get a lot higher turnover.

Finally finished our Intex Pool 4m x 2m x 1m setup with surrounding deck. Just wanted to show the result and process. Maybe can give some inspiration to others. Absolutely not the biggest pool in the world, but great to have in these stay home times and with 40 degrees outside.

I am coating with Rusroleum right now. Not the most fun job, but hopefully will be worth it.

Just about to setup a small metal frame pool from Intex and those rust pictures really worry me. Find it amazing it can rust that fast. How is the weather where you live? Could that be the reason? or is it simply just the salt water?
