    TA ?

Now I'm sorry I asked the question. In the face of contradictory specifications, what is a person supposed to think? Now that I know it doesn't matter (probably), I'll just have another beer.

    TA ?

    I agree.

    TA ?

OK, I found the chart now. However, the charts in the TF-100 test kit show different numbers (much higher) for bleach treated pool TA. That's where my concern came from. Thanks...

    TA ?

Low end,yeah.....that's my point......LOL. The TF-100 kit says the min should be 100. (OK, it's not a "book", its the bible then.)

    TA ?

My TA is 50, the book says it should be 100. Yes, I am wiping per the directions on the TF-100 kit. My pH has been a constant 7.5 all Summer. Never changed. Should I be worried? Should I get some baking soda and adjust it up? Or, leave well enough alone?

    Not Complaining, but...

My CYA was 50 at pool opening, but then we went on vacation and had to use an automatic chlorinator for the 10 days we were gone, so naturally it went up. Current results are: CYA = 60 Target CL = 5-7 Actual CL = 7-8, never once lower than 5 in the evening test pH = 7.4 consistently all summer...

    Not Complaining, but...

Oh No....I just had another thought.... This all started when I bought and received a new supply of chemicals. Could the CL test liquid that you add dropwise be less potent than the batch I had from last year? Thus, could I be getting a lower CL test result than it really is? I say that...

    Not Complaining, but...

The algae bloom was 2 years ago. Last year all was perfect, as I followed your recommendations. I was not "at the edge" because I was in the middle of the FC you suggest for my CYA level. Again today, full sun, 85, no wind, and i didn't even have to add ANY CL tonight.

    Not Complaining, but...

Today's weather was 80+ with full sunshine over my pool in my treeless backyard. Tonight's test showed still within the appropriate CL range, but I added a squirt anyway. Yeah, I'm sure weather has something to do with it, but even on hot days I'm using 1/2 or less. I'm sure nothing is...

    Not Complaining, but...

I've been following your methods and using your test kit and supplies for several years. All my algae problems are a thing of the past. This year, my pool has looked cleaner and more pristine than ever. However, I am hardly using any chlorine! In the past, to keep the CL at the right level...

    Test Kit Questions

Yeah next year, right. Mechanical parts in a kit should last the life of the kit. Two years is nothing. If others have had the problem, there is a problem. I don't care much for warranties. A warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it.

    Test Kit Questions

Nope, didn't work. One year warranty. No good customer leverage. The shipping cost for the tube was more than the tube. And I just bought my year's chemicals - could have had the tube for no shipping. I'll skip the test and hope for the best.

    Test Kit Questions

I have a TF-100 as required, yada, yada. The tube used for CYA has gotten discolored (browned), presumably from the chemicals used. I wonder if I am getting the correct results. How do I clean it? Do I have to clean it?
