    Brown Stain

Our aqua blue Pebblesheen is 3 months old and I’ve been diligent with taking care of it. This morning I found a brown rust looking stain in our deep end. I did add some calcium chloride yesterday add my CH level had dropped with the rain we’ve had. Could that have caused it? It won’t brush out...

Now I’m thinking we may need to do more SLAMing. Although I can see the bottom, it’s still a little more cloudy.

I think our SLAM is complete. Hardly any overnight chlorine loss. I can see the bottom of the deep end. I’m waiting for the chemicals to arrive to adjust the calcium. Now should I adjust CYA? What’s the next step? Our SWG will be installed in a few weeks. Today: FC 9 (still dropping from SLAM)...

If the PH is still high...will the water still clear up to indicate that the SLAM is done? Does a high PH cause cloudy water? Here’s today’s pic.

Also do you recommend staying away from clarifiers and algaecides? It looks like the algae left some staining. What should I use for that?

Also it says I would need 16 lbs of baking soda. Where would I find that?

I just added more chlorine. I’ll check the numbers later. The acid was lowering the TA, right? Should I add the baking soda?

So FC was at 6 yesterday so I added muriatic acid. PH tested at 7.6 later in the day. I also added chlorine (not at the same time) and FC was 8 when I tested. This morning PH is 8 and FC is 6. Is that normal for PH is rise again so quickly? I just want to keep SLAMing!
