Bruce, you might not have a backwash feature, but your filter could still have a port to go to waste. What kind of filter do you have? Also, in the pool, I assume you are talking about not having a main drain, but you could still drain it through the skimmers.

Silcozot, if the returning water is 3 or 4 degrees warmer, then it is running normal. I sometimes think mine's not running efficiently either when it really is. I always check to make sure water is running out the bottom and I put my hand over the top. The air blowing should be cool. Also...

AHAH! Just got through skimming JasonLion's closing directions (Sticky). Use the pump and vacuum hose through the skimmer to drain below the return jets. Don't think I ever would have thought of that on my own :lol: That is the answer to my non-functioning MD (for now).

This particular vac comes in a box that shows a flooded basement. And it says it pumps water 50 feet in height (not sure what that means :shock: ) at 6 gallons per minute.
