SPA return check valve breaks. Want to nix it. Thoughts?

I take it back. It's not cracked the leak is just more noticeable now. When I first bought the house in 2018 the check valve was visibly cracked in the site glass and housing and leaking bad. I called a pool pro and had it replaced. Post-fix from day 1 there was always water pooling at the...

SPA return check valve breaks. Want to nix it. Thoughts?

Hi all! I have an attached, raised, spillover spa. With my SPA intake and return completely closed off the SPA drains to the returns. Now... I know why this is. For the 2nd time in the 2 years I've lived here (3 seasons), my check valve on the SPA return has cracked and allows water out/air...

Does anyone know of a wifi-enabled filter pressure gauge?

My DIY controller reads a pressure transducer hooked to my filter It's not wireless though. You could do something like that though. If you're handy, here's the parts to make one. Raspberry Pi Zero WH - $36.49 (you can hunt around online and they're like $15)...

Need advice on replumbing for my SPA

Nope! The superflo VS doesn’t use RS-485 like the Intelliflos but it has a set of onboard relays that you can switch to choose up to 4 preset RPMs. So less flexibility but for the most part same result. Just needs this cable

Need advice on replumbing for my SPA

well that’s a relief! It still stresses me out though. I can hear the PVC on my return side... stretching? Not sure if that’s the right word. it’s a crackling sound when I flip to spa and system pressure goes up. My Jandy SPA check valve also cracked and had to be replaced (badly.. I got...

Need advice on replumbing for my SPA

Hi TFP! Whenever I changed my valves to activate the SPA my filter pressure on my filter shoots up to some god awful number. Like 30 psi, up from a normal 10-15psi. Which skeeves me out. I feel like the filter top is gonna shoot off or explode or something. To counteract this I’d been...

I need to make a water trap

Ok! So it sounds like this might work! I didn't think about the closed system keeping water in the pipes at all times. The sensors can be damp for an amount of time, I think they're just not supposed to dry out. Also, while writing this, I just realized I have a check valve between the most...

Harris In-Ground VS Pool Pump 1.5HP

I was looking at that pump last night! It's not energy star rated. Still a great deal though provided it's built well.

I need to make a water trap

Hi TFP I'm adding sensors to my DIY controller and I need some hydrodynamics advice. The sensors I'm using aren't supposed to get dry so I need to keep them in the pool water at all times. I was thinking of creating a p-trap to my pad plumbing like they do on sinks to keep water there. Will...

What is this white tube sticking out of the ground?

Can anyone give me their best guess to what the capped off tube to the right of the plumbing is? The one marked IDK. - - - Updated - - - Also, I found this in my pool. The pool company documents show it to be a connection for the sucker robots. Could the capped off tube be related to...
