    Removing heater from equipment pad

Not much to add but don't often see anyone from Petaluma here. Since it is above the pool level I don't believe you need to shut any valves, looks pretty straight forward.

    Choosing a new pool filter.

On my pentair 420 the whole center assy removes by pulling up, the vertical protrusions center it and provide friction to keep it in place.

    Bleed filter thingy...

I have had the same one for 5 years, why does it matter if it has a few dents, as long as there are not holes.

Anyone else have leaking actuated valves?

Same here, my solar valve developed a leak last year, still about the same now, slow drip.

Jacuzzi Sherlock 120 filter oring question

My friend has a pool with this filter. It is leaking where the two filter halves join. Looking on the internet I bought a new oring the part diagram shows only one. Upon taking his filter apart there are two large orings there, the top one seems to be a little smaller cross section or maybe its...

    my brothers sand filter

I guess there's not a "factory support" for it. We'll figure something out or maybe someone will post something. another question, where would a vacuum be connected?

    my brothers sand filter

The test in the tf-100 didn't even hide the dot at all. I was surprised the cya was 0 but I guess either someone drained and refilled somewhat recently or they have always used liquid cl, I think the first option is more likely. I didn't see a floater anywhere though.

    my brothers sand filter

last pic, this needs some attention, I'm surprised it hasn't failed. The hose from the filter is not supported except by a bungee cord.

    my brothers sand filter

Here are the test results from today: fc 10, cc 2.5, tc 12.5, ph 7.2, ta 150, ch 160, cya 0, temp 52. I am surprised the cya was at 0, I added a little too much chlorine but I think it will be gone pretty quick. He's not living there yet so this was just a temporary to reduce the algae, well go...

    my brothers sand filter

My brother is buying a house with a intex pool with I think a sand filter. I'll get a pic today to help figure out what kind. There is one intake from the pool, one hose to waste, and one return back to the pool. There is a valve on the top with various positions, Filter, filter to waste...

    vs-3050 Pump running dry.

I guess it comes on at 35 deg and the only option is "on" or "off", I wanted to set it to come on at 32 deg but unless someone knows how to I guess that's not an option. Thanks for the reply.

    vs-3050 Pump running dry.

So I pulled a dumb move yesterday. I wanted to soak my cartridge elements overnight to clean them. My pump starts at 9:45 am and stops at 4:00pm. Friday night I disassembled everything and pressed the "service" button on the easy touch thinking this would stop any thing from turning on, even...
