    DIY inground pool kit

Yeah with the setbacks it seemed like the permits would expire first. But thanks to good friend that came from out of state it all came together with 2 weeks to spare. Nothing like cutting it close. Lol.

    DIY inground pool kit

Thank you. There are some dips and humps in the paver work I need to fix but overall for my first time doing pavers I think it is respectable. Taking a little time off before building the outdoor kitchen/bar area

    DIY inground pool kit

Hello everyone, it has been a while. The mrs had several surgeries so everything got put on hold for a while, but we are back on track now. It is just about done, there is some detail work and a lot of cleanup left to do, but inspections are finished as of yesterday. The pavers were a lot more...

    Buried Pool renovation

I built my entire pool myself except for the excavation and the pool krete base, I did a vinyl liner kit. I would have done the excavation but I calculated that with how long it would would take me to do it the rental of the machine would not have been far off of what I paid. So I say good for...

    Buried Pool renovation

Agreed an experienced operator can be like watching a work of art, but this level of skill is not needed for this project. Everything I read said I would never be able to use all of the dirt that came out of the hole so I had a load hauled off. I then paid to have 3 loads brought back in...

    Buried Pool renovation

Not sure of the cost in their area, the excavation for my pool was $1500 but my pool is an order of magnitude smaller than this thing, but 10x as much. Jeeze, I would have rented an excavator too.

I see it as a subtle difference, bottom has already been defined at one point, you just run the machine a bit slower so you do not punch through anything.

    Buried Pool renovation

So the pool company quoted you 15k to excavate the hole? :poop: At that rate it would cost about a million dollars for them to actually build a pool. Keep digging, somehow I doubt this pool was filled in "correctly".

Ignore the leaves. The neighbors trees are dumping leaves in it at an alarming rate. One of the reasons it is getting screened in.

    DIY inground pool kit

So I plugged both skimmers and cut the line at the tee fitting and ran the second skimmer up to the pad. I cut out the 3 way valve and put in 3 2 way valves so each line could be controlled independently. This made an exponential difference in how the skimmers operate. I am now very happy with...

    DIY inground pool kit

The 3” is reduced down to 2” to keep the flow under the spec for code I needed 2 1/2” pipe. I could not source it easily so I went with 3” that I could get from the big box store. I have a guy coming tomorrow that is going to trench it for me so I can just get it done. There is not a lot of...

Or do I forego the 3 way and put in 3 2 way valves?

    DIY inground pool kit

Pump ran all night to circulate the salt that dissolved from my weights that held the liner in place in the stairs. Seems the garbage bags I put them in did not protect them. Oops. I dug up the tee connector for the skimmers. I am going to home run the second one. Probably not immediately...

    DIY inground pool kit

Good stuff than you both. It is 2” threads on the skimmers. Ok next question since variable speed pumps are new to me. Is it normal for the pump basket not to be completely full on lower speeds? Hard to see in the pic past the condensation but the water is about an inch below the top of the...

15x30 semi-inground AGP new build HELP!

I would check with the pool manufacturer about what barrier if any should be placed against the pool before backfilling. I would be worried about using something they would keep moisture against the walls

They do work better with the main drains mostly closed but they still do not seem to pull the same. The close one pulls decent. The far one the basket floats.

    DIY inground pool kit

There are main drains. There is a 3 way valve that controls flow between it an the skimmers. The closer skimmer is stronger unless I block it with my hand then the other one takes over as stronger. The main drains are on a 3” pipe I might need to close them to just barely open since it is such...

    DIY inground pool kit

Pool is full, over full actually it got away from me while I was doing some electrical work. Is this air bubble in the top of the pump basket Normal? I am not very impressed with the suction at the skimmers. There are 2 plumbed with 2” pipe. They are not both home runs. They are t connected...

Will try the hot water trick in the morning. 27 mil liner so it’s a bit of a pain to stretch. What are the suction cups for?

    DIY inground pool kit

The sump is a great idea. I never would have thought of that hopefully I will have filtration running by tomorrow night. I pulled the liner off the stairs for the 3rd time. I just can’t seem to get it to a place where I am happy with them. I ended up with wrinkles on one side and a bit away from...
