Allen, yes, they put rebar in before the original pour. However, I didn't know enough at that stage of the game to check over their work properly, ensure they had compacted the ground before the pour, etc. I suspect that had I known more of what to look for, I might've had some issues to discuss...

Yep. It cracked after the original pour, then was repaired, then topped with textured deck coat. Now cracking again. We'll see if PB has a solution.

Yep, that's the only one I have been able to find thus far. So hopefully that's it. And you're probably right about it being rather minor. I'll take that to heart. Any thoughts on the hairline cracks in the deck topping? I'm thinking about filling them with Sika flex. Any ideas there? Thx

Quick update: workers came and opened cracks a bit, them filled them with more cement. They also cut two additional joints. That said, I'm going to request two more joints be cut. For the most part, the fill did the trick, except in a few places where a much thinner -- albeit still visible --...

Thanks, folks. That's all useful information. PB coming out tomorrow to take a look. Says that if a dime can stand upright in the crack, then that's a serious one to deal with, and if no dime will fit, then it's less serious. Also believes from the pics I sent him that these are surface cracks...

Hi folks. We are set to have gunite this Friday. Plumbers were here today muscling the PVC to get it all back into the form -- some long stretches had slipped under the form and two corners had also been set outside the form. I was worried they wouldn't be encased in the gunite, so had PB call...
