Gunite to tile and coping....5 days? Is that too soon?

Folks, thanks for all the wisdom here. PB wants to start tile and coping 5 days after gunite. Should I be worried? Won't be able to water the beam anymore if they do start, and am concerned in general that it's too soon. I'm in Austin TX...hot...high 90s /low 100s of late, and have been good about watering the gunite since it was shot on Friday (3 days ago). Is it okay to start t & c 5 days after gunite -- no biggie -- or do I ask them to push it back a bit? BTW PB says to just start watering below tile line starting Wed. Any ideas?

Concrete takes 28 days to meet specified strength, 3000-5000psi, which depends on the mix. After that time it may go up or stay the same. At one week it is probably 2/3rds of the way there and strong enough to drive a tank over. If you are that worried, just have the pb put it in writing that warranties against issues related to installation of tile. Only one guarantee in l for about concrete, it will crack!
