New Pool owner and I am struggling

Sorry I haven't updated yall. After many boxes of soda ash I finally got it. Sunday morning my ph was between 7.2 and 7.5, my TA was 90. The kids were able to swim and had a blast, other than the fact that the pool water was very hot. I checked it again this morning and it was right at 7.5...

I also did the chlorine drop test. I think this is the one you were telling me to do. It took 15 drops to make the water completely clear. So I am assuming I am at a 7.5 there.

I just did the test again. I got the exact same results. I was sure to use the bottle with the red cap marked R-0014. Also I had some test strips left over, the ph test showed the lowest end of the scale there as well.

Kim, I read about it in another persons thread, and did it last night. Not to get ahead of myself, but should I just wait until after swimming season to deal with the metal issue? - - - Updated - - - It really makes me mad that the pool store told me to fix the metal issue before the ph issue.

I bought the 8.25% Walmart brand of bleach. I should get home in a few hours, so I will start adding the Soda Ash when I walk in the door. I have numerous stores on my route home, so getting the bleach is not an issue. I do not have a waterfall, but I do have a small sprinkler that I can plug...

I checked my ph levels this morning and there was no change. I do not think I had enough Borax to do anything. Should I switch to Soda Ash or stay with the Borax? I am going to run to the store during lunch. On the subject of bleach, I am a little intimidated by it. I went to the store and...

I just ordered my TF-100 test kit. It seems there should not be much confidence placed in the pool stores. I apologize for the amount of information I gave in the introduction portion. I am just in panic mode right now.
