    Coleman pools, verdict?

My only worry is I buy it now and set it up next summer and it leaks. I don't think they would cover it since it is so far past the purchase data even though I didn't open it. I don't want to set it up now just to look for leaks either.

Summer Escapes skimmer vs other skimmers

I would be using the filter/pump that comes with the new pool or a sand filter / pump combo if I find a good deal on one. But, I am considering reusing the my old skimmer to save some money, or is something like a Hayward worth it over my old one?

Summer Escapes skimmer vs other skimmers

If I have a 5 year old skimmer from a 15ft summer escapes pool should I just reuse it or buy a new skimmer to install on an intex or coleman pool? Much difference between skimmers, besides the summer escapes one can have a filter installed if needed? I am not sure you would or should use...

    Coleman pools, verdict?

So what's the verdict on the Coleman pools? Are they comparable to the ProSeries by Summer Escapes or Ultra Frame by Intex or are they closer the Intex and Summer Escapes blue liner pools. Mostly interested in the liner durability. My blue Summer Escapes 15ft has a dead bump and a hole in the...

    Intex pump hoses

So, an Intex hose won't go over the same size pipe that any other 1.5" hose will go over? Or, are you saying a normal 1.5" inch hose won't go over the connection on the intex sand pump and that would need an adapter, which I know they have on amazon? I am really only interesting in if the...

    Intex pump hoses

My fitting are 1.5" I am using a 1.5" hose now from the inlet to the summer escapes pump. But, these are not scew on fittings. It just uses normal hose clamps. Does the screw on collar of the intex hoses just slide back and allow you to use it as a normal hose with a hose clamp? The online...

Wondering the same thing. What did you end up doing?

    Pro series vs normal

Yeah the pump is under the skimmer on mine. It is dieing, but I like having the skimmer and skimmer hole aleady there. But, you get a nicer pump with Intex, still no sand filter though. So, I guess it comes down to what you want to do replace pump on Summer Escapes when it dies or add an in...

    Pro series vs normal

Why Intex over Summer Escapes? Besides bump / filter design, the only difference I see is the Summer Escapes already has the skimmer in the side wall, which I like.

    Need a new pump

What about the 3000 gph model. The Intex comes in 1200, 2400, and 3000 gph. Which would you get for a 3800 gallon pool? I could see me upgrading to a larger pool later, but not over 10000 as we take it down every winter. Amazon.com: Intex Sand Filter Pump with GFCI for Pools, 3000-Gallon...

    Need a new pump

So is it worth the extra money to go from 1200gph to 2100gph with the Intex Sand Pump?

    Need a new pump

I don't know if they offer a two speed, but I would not worry about buying anything over their smallest sand pump.

    Need a new pump

Thanks. Sand is sounding better. So for pumps would a smaller and thus more energy efficient pump make more sense? Maybe just turn it on enough to distribute the chlorine or turn 1/3 or 1/2 the water over per day. The added run time for a smaller pump would seem to increase the skimming...

    Need a new pump

Doing some reading on new pumps and it looks like you need to turn the pool over every 8 hours. That would mean even a 1000 gph would handle a 8000 gallon pool. Does that sound right or am I missing something? Looks like cartridge filters are better than sand if you don't mind cleaning them...

    Need a new pump

The breaker in the breaker box is not tripping. It is the CFGI on the end of the cord that runs to the pump. It runs for around 30 minutes before it cuts off then I have to hit the button the CFGI to turn it back on.

    Need a new pump

Could it be the GFCI plug going bad? Anyway to test that? That would be cheap and easy to replace.

    Need a new pump

My 3 or 4 year old Summer Escapes F1000C is dieing. It cuts off after a certain amount of time. I have to turn it back on at the gfci electrical plug. As those run $130 I though maybe something else would work better for the money. I found the Intex 1500 Filter Pump for $64 and the Intex...

    Pro series vs normal

The liner being thicker would be nice. My blue summer escapes is on its 3rd or 4th summer. Just found the first pin hole in the side wall this summer. I patched it with a vinyl patch / sticker it came with. That seems to be working. But, now my pump keeps cutting off for some reason after a...

Are the pro series (gray) Intex and Summer Escapes pools worth the extra money over the normal blue ones?

Just filled 15 ft by 42 in Summer Escapes

I just filled my pool up using the garden hose. I don't have the TF-100 yet, but what do you suggest I add right now. I started using liquid chlorine at the end of last summer after using the small round tablets before that. It seemed to help along with the pool caclulater. I know you really...
