No SWG at my friends place. All I can do is lead the horse to water. When he calls me because his water is all jacked up, I won't be there. Ok - I'll be there 'cause I like fixing stuff and to bask in the glory that only comes from an "I told you so" moment.

Congrats. To document my build I built a website and posted pics and blogs. Made sure pool builder was aware too. I don't know if it influenced them to do a good job but they did great. Keep us updated.

Had a friend buy a house with a pool and he asked me to show him how to test and balance the water. I take my trusty tfp 100 test kit and find his CYA is over 100 - about 120. I tell him ita too high and how to lower it. He calls his pool guy who tells him it's fine as long as its under 150...
I'm going to check on Monday with the builder, but is there anything special about the GFCI outlet? Looks like the power to the main board and the lights are coming off that outlet. I have a 20amp 125v installed, but it feels hot around the display.
The time setting on my aqualogic control panel keeps changing
It's hard to get the pumps to run at the right time when the time keeps changing any ideas?
This man speaketh the truth. I "got by" the last two years with a basic kit and I would frequently long for the precision of the TFP. I guess it's all in what you value, but it's far easier to be precise and efficient shocking your pool with the better test kit. Ordered mine last weekend.
My gut is telling me the cell is going bad. Mine was acting just like yours when it went bad. I would definitely have the water tested for salt at a reputable pool store before adding salt.
If you don't mind me asking, what does it cost to have someone come out for this? I don't have any visible leaks but it sure seems like I have to add more water than I used to.
always amazed at the number of pool owners that think draining a pool is a good idea when they have a major pool clean up on their hands. I live in houston so I wouldn't even consider doing that.
just installed one this week. I also believe this is just a compuPool cell. WE shall see. Just got my numbers back inline for chlorine production and it appears to be working fine. I realize this doesn't help as far as longevity or the value of the three year warranty, but I just wanted to...
I decided just to cut it off before the T and install it all new. It was VERY easy to do. I'm not intimidated by electrical stuff but plumbing makes me nervous due to my lack of experience. I let it sit for a couple of hours and turned the pump on and it primed immediately. <crossing...
Ok I'm having a helluva time getting my pump to prime. It used to be occasional but now it's every morning. I have to pull the lid of, fill the pot with water and repeat - sometimes many times before it will prime. In the pic below, the faucet right above the fault definitely has a leak. I...
I have 3 valves on the suction side. 1 valve is for one of the skimmers. a 2nd valve is for the other skimmer which is tied to the main drain and a 3rd valve which is for the cleaner port only. The pressure is hovering around 30 unless I turn the 2 skimmer valves off and leave just the...
