My latest results - what do I need to do

This was a drain, pressure wash, refill. After a couple of days I had a few puffy off yellow areas (dead algae), it was suggested in another thread to SLAM. Prior to the SLAM my ph was fine 7.4 / 7.5. Yesterday evening about 6pm I upped my CYA and at 935pm it tested at 30 ppm. This morning...

Any suggestions on my latest test after full drain and refill.

After I did the drain & pressure washing of the pool, I sprayed a quick water / bleach combo along the walls and the light. I didn't open up the light. Still a leery of lights / electricity & water :) Just vacuumed the pool and upped the chlorine level, will test the chlorine level a few...

Any suggestions on my latest test after full drain and refill.

Please don't take this as being rude, but rather a novice pool owner. So I recently drained and pressure washed my green swamp, wet vac'ed out the little bit of debris that was left afterwards. Refilled the pool (not well water). You still believe it's dead algae (I don't doubt it)? And if...

Any suggestions on my latest test after full drain and refill.

Any suggestions on my latest test results? I've been trying to get my CYA levels up, yesterday they were 20. Another thing I've notices is what appears from the surface to be areas of sand on the floor of the pool. As I approach them and attempt to pick them up with the vacuum they disappear...

New to TFP, 1.5 years of fighting with pool, draining and refilling

Can't be any worse than the advice from the pool stores and it's cheaper too ;) Once you begin reading TFP, pool school, and the ABC's of pool water chemistry, it all begins to come together. Then you begin to recognize that there's pool professionals that poke in every now and then trying to...

Poured a couple of cups of bleach in late last night and another couple a few minutes ago. Took an old sock and put some stabilizer in it, put it in one of those puck floaters. Looks like rain, gotta go fish out the crickets now. Better than fishing out frogs and snakes though :).

Thanks for the heads up. How soon would the pool float if it was going to float? I guess that all depends on the water table and how much water is actually under the pool, whether or not it can float the pool. Probably answered my own question.

No swap areas. I have old holes where pine trees where that are a good 2-3 foot deep and no water. Just stopped the draining until I hear back. lol. Yard is completely dry. I'm on acreage and it's all dry. My septic system is about 50 foot away, I'm draining down hill opposite of the septic...

I don't know if it matters, but I'm well above 200' above sea level, the pool is built up on the property also compared to the rest of the yard. I didn't take any precautions, should I be concerned? I have about 1500 gallons left in the pool. ???

Question to the veteran pool owners regarding Salt Cell

There is a divert valve. Time spent tending to the pool without the salt cell vs with the salt cell, is it negligible or would it be worth the money to replace it?

Question to the veteran pool owners regarding Salt Cell

I haven't had it on since then (about 1.5 years ago), and if I remember right it would always say 0 salt, even though there was several bags of salt at the time. That was the first time that I drained the pool. No, it hasn't been taken out and tested at a pool store. I remember reading a few...

Question to the veteran pool owners regarding Salt Cell

When I bought this property, the salt cell was supposedly working properly, pool looked beautiful. I had a pool guy come out and give me a basic run down on what I needed to do to maintain the pool and he said that the salt cell was out and it'd be XXX.XXX amount of dollars ( I don't remember...

Thank you guys & gals. I'll update you, been draining for about 22 hours now. Using a 1500 gph pump, but I'm not draining at 1500 gph, because of the restriction in the hose. I didn't realize it take this long to drain. Still have a about 14 inches in the shallow end and 3 feet in the deep end.

A year and half ago we bought this house, the first summer with the pool was good. Since then it's been algae bloom after algae bloom. Ordered my TF-100 test kit today and added the XL option. The pool is gunite and 15000 gallons. I'm currently in the process of draining the pool and refilling...
