PebbleTec being applied next week and forecast is windy - problem?

We’ve got a new build that’s finally getting the plastering done next week. We’re going with Pebble Sheen. We’re building a 26k inground pool and our pool builder says it will be a two day process - pebble sheen applied the first day, then acid wash the second day (and then filled with water the...

Just completed the gunite - are these issues to worry about?

Just wanted to circle back and say thanks for the guidance here. Very helpful and much appreciated.

Which pump for a dedicated bubbler??

I went through the manual (it’s a Pentair Colorvision Bubbler) and didn’t see anything either way about the plumbing or water supply…but, of course, what you say makes sense that a skimmer would be more likely to clog it. I’m a little frustrated with my pool builder on this one - I honestly...

Which pump for a dedicated bubbler??

We’re working a new build - 26k gallon in-ground gunite pool - and have a single LED bubbler being installed in our sun ledge. I think we’re going to put the bubbler on its own pump so it can be activated at the same time the spillover on the spa is running. We’d have a dedicated skimmer...

Just completed the gunite - are these issues to worry about?

Hi - we're in the process of having a 26k gallon gunite in-ground pool built. The crew just completed the gunite yesterday afternoon. When I went out do do the first watering yesterday evening, I noticed two things that made me wonder if they needed to be addressed. Would appreciate any...

One bubbler or two on sun shelf?

Thanks, this is helpful. One more piece of information...the price quoted for one bubbler (LED) is $4225. The second and third are $3245 each. Seems crazy, I know, but that's what he's quoting. If we go to non-LED bubblers, it will be $2600 for one, and $1100 each for the second and third.

One bubbler or two on sun shelf?

Hi - could use any opinions on how many bubblers to put on our sun shelf. We're early in the build process for a new 26,000 gallon gunite pool. Our builder has suggested that two bubblers may be less desirable on our sun shelf, especially if we plan to leave two loungers in there at any point...

    Matching equipment for Pentair IntelliCenter?

One more followup - my pool builder isn't giving me any guff about switching to Pentair equipment and the Intellicenter, which I'm pleasantly surprised by. But he does say that he strongly recommends the Jandy 400k BTU heater over the Pentair because they've found it to be less susceptible to...

    Matching equipment for Pentair IntelliCenter?

Thanks, much appreciated. If I switch to Pentair for the SWG, would you suggest going to the 60k or staying with the 40k?

    Matching equipment for Pentair IntelliCenter?

We're getting started on a new build that will be a 26,000 gallon, in ground, gunite pool. Our builder prefers Jandy equipment and, as part of that, has specified the Jandy PLC1400 (Aquapure 40,000 gallon SWG). I've seen the recommendation to select a SWG that is rated for double the size of...

    Matching equipment for Pentair IntelliCenter?

We're getting going on a new build for a 26,000 gallon in ground gunite pool. Our builder has recommended all Jandy equipment. We'll be doing a VSP pump, SWG, spa bubbler, some LEDs, a natural gas heater, and provisioning for possibly adding a heat pump in the future. As part of this, of course...

Do I have a bad pump relay?

Awesome, thanks for the help! I've got one ordered and will slot it in as soon as it gets here.

Do I have a bad pump relay?

Great suggestion - I did as you said and unplugged the filter pump relay connection on the main board. The pump still runs so it looks like it's definitely a bad relay. Thanks for the help! Also, it looks like the OE relay is something like $110 or so. Is that a normal price for a relay like...

Do I have a bad pump relay?

I've been having an intermittent issue (that has now turned into a permanent issue in the last week or so) where my filter pump does not turn off, even when my controller (a Compool LX100 that has been upgraded to an EasyTouch) is not sending a run signal. Some reading indicates that this may be...

Help - relay wiring on EasyTouch (upgrading from Compool LX100)

I got it up and running. Seems to be working correctly so far, although I need to spend some time programming schedules still. Thanks for the help.

Help - relay wiring on EasyTouch (upgrading from Compool LX100)

I do have a spa side remote (although I have the old one and haven't bought the new one yet - was going to try it and see if it works with the old one and, if not, decide if I want to spend the money on a new spa side remote). However, my only worry was whether that third wire was being used to...

Help - relay wiring on EasyTouch (upgrading from Compool LX100)

I'm upgrading my old Compool LX100 to a Pentair EasyTouch and am baffled by something I've found on the relay wiring. On both the old Compool and new EasyTouch boards, there is a connection for wires coming from the filter pump relay (two wires that are connected to a push connector, which then...

I think my pump died - what to do?

Thanks everyone for the help so far. I'm just installing my new motor this morning and have fast question. Of the three wires on the electrical connection, one is obviously ground. The other two are neutral and hot, but I don't which is which because the wire insulation is faded. Is there any...

    Stenner pump problem

No, haven't ever done in the two summers since I installed it. What's the best way to clean it? Just wipe it and rinse it? Or is there some other way?

    Stenner pump problem

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out on Saturday when I get a little time. Also I remember that the pump came with an extra set of internal tubes - any idea if those are the same flow rate as what I ordered the pump for? Or do they tend to send a different flow rate set of tubes? Thanks.

I think my pump died - what to do?

Thanks for the help so far. After leaving the pump alone for a few hours today (and letting the motor cool off), I went out to try turning it on to see what would happen. When I manually turned it on, the motor made a loud buzzing/whirring sound for 5 or 10 seconds, and then shut off. It...

    Stenner pump problem

When you say "replace the tube" - do you mean the tube in where the rollers are? Or the feed tube from the tank/to the pool return line?

    Stenner pump problem

I've had my Stenner installed for two summers. This last week it stopped pumping chlorine out of the injection quill. The pump still runs and the rollers are moving - there's just nothing coming out the injection quill. Any suggestions of how or what to troubleshoot first? Thanks for any advice.

I think my pump died - what to do?

Thanks for the guidance so far, everyone. So if the capacitor is bad, will the motor get hot when it's supposed to be running? And also, perhaps more for future reference, would you have any hesitation continuing to use the same impeller/pump in my case if the whole motor is bad?

I think my pump died - what to do?

This morning I noticed my Polaris was running but my waterfall and pool returns weren't going. Upon inspection, I found that the filter pump was not running... The pump wasn't making any noise or anything, just wasn't running, but the motor was hot to the touch. I played with the timer for a...

    Quick Stenner install question

Makes sense. i guess I'm just wondering if I'll have enough wiggle room in the pipe after cutting it to get the tee fitting on...I'd hate to cut it out and then not be able to slide the tee in. I agree that the tee is a better connection but the tapped hole will avoid that risk. But I'm thinking...
