Should I seal my pool surface?

It is not plaster. It is a concrete product with colored aggregate. Sorry for the confusion.

Should I seal my pool surface?

I have an in-ground pool with a concrete surface similar to pebble tec and I was wondering if I should be sealing this every few years as a matter of maintenance. I need to drain and clean the pool due to issues with the water chemistry and was wondering if I should take this opportunity to coat...

Petair IC40 Chlorinator not working; Repeatedly blowing fuses in power center

I removed the IC40 and looked at the cells. There wasn't any visible sign of scale that I could see. I suppose that it is worth a try to give it an acid wash to see if it will bring it back to life.

Petair IC40 Chlorinator not working; Repeatedly blowing fuses in power center

I have a pentair power center which powers the pentair IC40 which is 4 years old. The IC40 has no power at all and has blown the fuse in the power center. I replaced the fuse and it immediately burns out when I attempt to power it on. Foolishly, I began to replace the parts in the power center...

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

Now I'm more confused than ever. The image shows a blower attached to the hartford loop. I thought the whole point of the loop was to allow air into the system without the need for a blower. Is this not the case?

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

During construction I saw two "loops" of PVC pipe around the spa. (installed by the contractor prior to pouring the shell)

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

Since I'm not seeing the Venturi effect, I temporarily attached a blower at the pad (with the rest of the equipment) and I got air through to the spa. Although I do have the hartford loop, I'm still not seeing any air at the spa without the blower. I'm thinking that the spa line may be too long...

    New to pool chemistry

I have a newly constructed pool with pebble finish (one week ago) and I am having difficulty understanding the proper pool chemistry. After running several tests, it indicates that I have a low total alkalinity (40). However, an acid demand test shows I need about 3 qt. of muriatic acid. From...

Newly installed spa- cloudy water after startup

Yes, it has begun to clear up as I continue to filter the water and adjust the water chemistry. I'm using the Poolmaster 5 way test kit. As far as I can tell, these test are sufficient to produce the proper pool chemistry. The overall alkalinity test helps to move the ph in the proper direction...

Newly installed spa- cloudy water after startup

Hello. I have a pool and spa which are newly constructed and I recently filled the pool and started my pump for the first time. My pump is connected to a sand filter and the return line has a 3 way valve which controls the flow back to the pool and/or spa. The filter has a multi-port valve which...

    Installing new Chlorine generating cell

This sounds very reasonable since I do not have a timer. Thank you very much for the assistance.

    Installing new Chlorine generating cell

No, I do not currently have a timer. One point of clarification: I want to connect the power center data lines to the pump data lines directly. (because there is not a pool timer)

    Installing new Chlorine generating cell

I am installing a new Chlorine generating cell (Pentair IntelliChlor IC40) using the IntelliChlor Power Center to supply the proper current. However, the installation instructions mention connecting the chlorine cell to a pool timer or controller which are in turn connected to the pool pump...

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

Thank you. This is extremely helpful. I capped off the line at the pool and will put a vent cap on before finishing the pool. It is my understanding that this air line and the spa jets are connected at the spa because when it was built there were two "loops" of PVC which encircled the spa. If I...

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

How can I determine where the line goes? My spa has an air line which comes above the coping at the spa. Then, I have the line at the equipment labeled "spa air flow". There are three lines related to the spa: 1.) Spa main drain 2.) Spa Air Flow 3.) Spa Jet How can I determine what the...

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

I'm am building a new pool, but I hired a contractor to excavate and plumb the pool. I'm responsible for the equipment and I'm attempting to connect the plumbing to the pump and filter myself. (this is why I'm not certain of the intended use of each plumbing pipe line) The spa is not elevated...

Plumbing new in ground pool - plumbing spa question

Hello. I am in the process of pool construction and need to connect the equipment. (pump, filter, etc) However, I'm confused over the lines that the pool contractor ran from the pool and spa to the equipment. I'm sure that this is due to my ignorance, but I'm trying to figure out how best to...
