Jandy heater not igniting? - UPDATE - fixed!

Like a continuity check of the igniter? Or a continuity check on the wires that connect to the igniter?

Jandy heater not igniting? - UPDATE - fixed!

This might be overkill (but maybe might be useful to somebody in the future), but here's a picture of the new igniter....I just re-installed it and it still doesn't work.

Jandy heater not igniting? - UPDATE - fixed!

I don't believe I touched the igniter (at least the non-plastic parts), and I was definitely very gentle with it. What do you mean by cracked? I'll try reconnecting to give it another whirl. I also checked the tubing on the air pressure switch per the manual and everything looked fine...

Jandy heater not igniting? - UPDATE - fixed!

Thanks for the response PoolGate. I just got a new igniter and replaced it, but I am still experiencing the same problems. Any other thoughts on what might be the problem?

Jandy heater not igniting? - UPDATE - fixed!

Hello, I just tried turning on my heater for the first time this season, and the burner is not turning on. When I first turn on the heater, I hear the fan go on, and then usually in like a minute you hear a small click and then a whoosh as the heat turns on. You can then normally feel hot air...

    Rust spot update

Follow up to an old thread (Thread 'What is this rust spot?' What is this rust spot?) Per the old thread above I had a big rust spot in my pool. I had a pool guy look at it and they said it was probably rusted rebar and that I needed to get that fixed and replaster. Demolition guys just came...

    What is this rust spot?

Thanks! Pool and plaster are just under 8 years old. I did some searches after the replies and it seems that this is not exactly uncommon. What causes it? I live in Southern California, and we have had minor earthquakes here and there, so perhaps that? Also, do these things generally fall...

    What is this rust spot?

Hello, We haven't used our pool regularly in a few months, and during that time, I've noticed a rust spot on the bottom. I thought perhaps it was just a piece of metal, but I finally got a chance to dive in a get a closer inspection and it's not something I can just take out of the pool. It's...

Plaster not looking good? Time to drain and refill pool water?

Thanks for the info! Admittedly, I've been lax on making sure the TA levels were OK. I just bought 2 boxes of baking soda and will put it in tonight. I'm going to closely monitor the CSI from here on out. Some follow up questions, if you don't mind. 1. Is the effect on the plaster at all...

Plaster not looking good? Time to drain and refill pool water?

This season the plaster on my pool has really started looking, for lack of a better word, old. This is the fourth season we've been using the pool, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Pictures are attached. In one of the pics, you can see that the plaster is all mottled. On another...

Air bubbles caused by loose seal?

I'm all of sudden having a bunch of air bubbles in my pool when I turn the pumps on. I think it is b/c this seal thing (don't know what this is called) is loose (see video -> leaking seal). I couldn't even tell it was loose, because it is dry when the pump is running, BUT, when I turn off the...

How to estimate time it takes to pump one full cycle

I read the pool school article, but I just wanted to know as a base line. Plus, I thought that if you added solid CYA, then you should definitely run at least a full cycle since the acid could corrode the pipes/plaster. Is that true?

How to estimate time it takes to pump one full cycle

Brand new pool owner here. I'm a budding DIY kinda guy, so I love the mentality on this site! I swear a saw a youtube video explaining how to calculate the time it takes to cycle through all of the water in your pool, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can anybody tell me an easy way to...
