I resolved it by putting on the old hose. So it seems that the leak is when I put on the new hose. Wonder how I fix that?

Above ground 24ft pool. Pentair sand filter. I recently replaced the pump to filter hose and the pump lid has a slow leak when turned off. I put the old hose back on (replaced bc starting to show wear…see pic) and it doesn’t leak? Also, why does the return jet “gurgle” when turned on/off...

I just noticed the weights have a small hole in the top of each (looks either manufactured that way or previous owner put them there). Thinking I should plug them?

Is there a way to seal the weights? Perhaps silicone or sealant? Or Gorilla tape?

Just to be safe I was thinking I might try and put foam tube on the bottom if I can get them to stay there

Wow the parts are expensive. Yeah, I might have to try and build some rails myself.

I’ve been using a pool ladder and it seems those “pads” that are placed underneath are always moving. Not sure if pads would stay underneath steps in pic above?

Above ground pool. Any issues with placing these in above ground pool? The weights contain gravel. I’m worried about the steps/weights tearing the vinyl liner. Also, if ok to use, any ideas on where to get posts for the steps (See small holes 2nd step from top)

How much “slack” should there be with filter hoses for above ground pool? Enough that some of the hose rests on the ground? Or no need for any of the hose to touch the ground? Does one way cause unnecessary weight and pull on the pool wall, return jet, etc? Thanks

I need to clean the filter basket. If the filter is in the closed setting, do I need to plug both the skimmer entry hole and return hole? Or just the skimmer hole?

I’m using a pump to get the water off my above ground pool cover and there seems to be a lot of oil type substance.....is this normal?

For my agp, the filter housing is a dome shape. While disassembling to clean the filter, I noticed a bunch of very small tannish brown colored bugs crawling on top of the filter and in the dome. What might these be and any concerns? I hosed them off and cleaned the area with bleach.

I have an above ground pool and was wondering if I need to drain the pool below the scimmer? I have a plastic (almost tupperware) type piece that goes onto the scimmer opening to the pool and a plug piece for the jet return. I live in PA so we do get freezing weather in the winter.

you know what......maybe I used the 25ml mark.........multiplying 30 by .2 gives me FC of 6, which is more in line with my tests over the last few days. How many scoops of the white powder (0871 I think) should I add to my pool water to test for FC. I have been adding 2 scoops.

Test kit is k-2006. Not sure what you mean by SWG but I think you are referring to the filter.....it is not a sand filter but a cartridge filter. - - - Updated - - - I tested it twice today and results both times were 15.

I recently opened my pool and did not have to add any liquid bleach as the levels were still near slam level. I tested FC yesterday and it was 8, however, after testing it today it is at 15? My CYA is 30-40 and there is no CC. PH is 7.4 and TA is 80. What would cause this increase?

yes it is crystal clear! How do I know if I have algae? Also, you say about FC below 16 but the calculator has my target of FC at 20?

Do my other figures look ok? Seems too easy to just add liquid bleach? Should I let the pump run 24 hrs? Are we able to swim in it?
