Too much sand in new filter????

I added water up to about the halfway point (or whatever the instructions said), added the 150# of gravel carefully so as not to damage the laterals, and then the sand. Thanks for the replies.

Too much sand in new filter????

Thanks for the reply. If my standpipe or laterals were damaged then I should be continually pumping sand into the pool. In my situation, sand is only pumped into the pool after I turn off the pump for 15 seconds or more. When I restart the pump (in Filter mode), I get about a half pound of...

Too much sand in new filter????

I installed a new Triton TR100. I added exactly what the installation instructions called for, 150# pea gravel and 450# of pool sand from our local pool distributor. The filter is doing a great job of filtering and no sand is getting into the pool until I turn off the pump for a minute or...

    Polaris PB4 pump issue

I am making some progress. I reconfigured the Polaris PB4-60 as a 230V booster pump although still supplying it with 120V. As expected, the pump ran at about half speed while pulling 11.5 AMPS (which is about double what it should be running). The input flow to the volute on the PB4 booster...

    Polaris PB4 pump issue

Thank you for the reply, I am certain that the pump is wired in accordance with the pump placard for low voltage and the input voltage on the line is 120V. I don't want to change the pump wiring to the high voltage configuration because I think it wll burn it up Btw, doesn't a restrictor add...

    Polaris PB4 pump issue

I replaced my pool plumbing with a Triton TR100 and Pentair Whisperflo WFE-3. I added my Polaris PB4-60 booster back into the system and am now experiencing a strange problem. When I start up the booster, it is having a very difficult time turning over. I immediately suspected debris so I...

    Is this normal??

I installed a new Triton II (TR100). I checked that the laterals were hand tight as per the installation manual and was careful putting in the pea gravel and pool filter sand not to damage them. The filter has been running for about 3 days with a Pentair Whisperflo. The water got sparkling...

HELP Please - Pentair Whisperflo wiring issue

Sorry about the multiple posts but I reread what you were asking for. In addition to the pictures, to answer your question, the circuit breaker does NOT blow if it is not connected to the Pentair pump. The weird thing, I hooked up the pump the same way I hooked it up originally to see if it...

HELP Please - Pentair Whisperflo wiring issue

Greetings, I am very familiar with electrical connections and have wired subpanels, transfer switches, booster pumps, etc. BUT, I am having an issue with a new Pentair Whisperflo 3/4 HP pump (WFE-3). I am wiring the pump with 115V. On the pump motor, it states that is wired for 230V...

A few questions for the experts PLZ

Thanks for the reply, I am absorbing as much as I can reading thru this forum and I am coming to the same conclusion as you. Unfortunately, 230 V pumps are not possible without a huge cost to run new lines out to the pool thru the house , under hill, over dale, etc. Also, the original...

A few questions for the experts PLZ

I have a 39,000 pool that is 12 years old. The filter system is looking very tired but is still holding up. Currently I have a 1 HP primary pump, 3/4 HP aux pump, and looks like about a 250 lb. Hayward Sand Filter with American Products Multiport on top of the sand filter running thru 1 1/2"...
