    Swamp to Swimming Pool

I did! Other than the hair, that is how it was when their mother sent them to preschool. Luckily the suits I grabbed them just happen to match. I didn't even notice until I posted the picture, lol.

. It's not crystal clear, but I can see the 8ft deep end. I am still maintaining slam levels but it drops enough while I am at work to let the kids go for their first swim.

HELP - 1st time pool owner and NO IDEA where to start! (pics)

You will go through a lot of bleach but that is a small price to pay compared to what the pool store probably charged your husband the past two years. Your making progress, keep up the great work!

First above ground pool. Make sure I have everything correct.

Great Idea on adding the 2nd valve!

    Every year mid spring

Just to add to the panty hose idea, I use disposable hair nets. They seem to hold up to the chlorine better. 100 for $8.25 using Amazon.

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

Quick update on my swamp. I had small setback a couple weeks ago that caused me to lose a lot of progress, but it is now back underway. I have went thru SO much bleach. I'm going thru 4-5 jugs of 121oz 8.25% a day and I can see progress. This is defiantly going slower than I thought, but I'm...

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

Wow! I hope mine clears up that fast! The previous owners left the pool in quite a mess. They did nothing to winterize! Right now the pool seems to be frog utopia, but they are getting relocated. Next week I can have someone run over a couple times a day for me, but I'm out of luck until they...

I understand there are always uv rays present. :) I was given the below advise so I was thinking I should hold off still.

Should i start to add the CYA? I think it is going to rain here until May, so the sun won't be a problem.

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

Ph same but no chlorine this morning. Added 5 more jugs to bring fc around 11. Will not be able to check again until this evening. I'm sure there is still some gunk in the deep end that I can't reach. I'm guessing that is what is eating up the chlorine along with the overall condition of the...

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

Sorry. Per your instructions I increased ph to low 7s via 3 boxes of borax mule 20. Added 5 121oz jugs of 8.25% bleach. All added about 7pm and checked around 830. After checking I added another of the same jugs of bleach for a 10ppm target.

Good to know! I don't think it looks terrible, it only had the slopes. I will open it up and see what it feels like.

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

I went and got the sand today and bought the wrench to take it apart last week. The little pump skimmer basket broke so I need to get one of those. One small leak around the pump return and the view bubble when I put it on backwash. I viewed the sand and I think it needs changed. It slopes in...

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

No vortex. I ran a hose over most of the joints. I then warped them in electrical tape. I think it is the pump. Also. It appears the boater will run, but I don't notice water movement??

    Swamp to Swimming Pool

Thanks! I went ahead and cut off my bottom drain and fired it up. The pump is not priming. There is water getting pulled in, but not like it should. About half as much. There are bubbles coming out of the returns. I have it on recirculated.
