I've checked from the phase and anti phase power feeds in reference to earth on both the circ pump and heater. I get no reading atall = no connection I have various multimeters. My main meters are currently: Precision Gold meter Sinometer M-830B

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will check them out when I next have the tub skirts off, probably tomorrow, and report back with my findings.

I did that process of elimination, as far as I can tell, and found that the circ pump and heater were causing the breaker to trip. With both disconnected, the breaker stays on, and the 2 main pumps run fine.

BTW: What's the average lifespan of a heater? The tub is about 11 years old, so even though I suspect the heater isn't the cause of the breaker tripping, it may be wise to replace it anyway. I would be kicking myself if I rebuilt the tub with the original heater, only for it to fail the middle...
