Is it standard for the Polaris suction / input to be tied into the normal pool plumbing after the filter? For some reason I would think it would be tied to the main drain so you would always have water to move the Polaris around even if the main pump was not running.

Yep, they got the steel and plumbing in one day. The steel guys and the plumbers are the same company so they must work together well. I wasn't home unfortunately but the wife said there had to be at least 25 people here working on it at once. Fingers crossed shotcrete Monday morning!
