    CC doesn’t seem right

Thanks for the replies. It could be the pollen I suppose. Getting tons of it. But do not recall this issue in the past. Using pool shock from Menards- same as last year. My ph is very stable, alkalinity 80, borates 50 CYA st 50 etc. AND the pool is crystal clear. I hate wasting chlorine.

    CC doesn’t seem right

Never have algae problem. This year CC always at 1.0. No overnight chlorine loss. Pool is crystal clear( use borates). Reagent for CC is almost out. Is it possible the reagent is just old? I leave it inside and it’s only about a year old. When I put drops in it just gradually turns my water...

Help! Pool motor running VERY hot.

Has a burn smell and white, hard, plastic seems to have fallen off in a clump. Will try and post a picture. It was making sound like rocks were in it for about 24 hours, then stopped. It now sounds normal but the smell and the heat aren’t. I’ll try and post a pic. Thank you - - - Updated - - -

A few wrinkles in a relatively new liner

I appreciate the reply. Was starting to wonder. A respectable pool installer said they wouldn't come out. They aren't too bad so I am going to live with it this year. The cause was fixed at least.

A few wrinkles in a relatively new liner

16x32 Sport Pool. New liner 24 months ago. Discovered an issue that threw tons of rainwater under the pool resulting a 8-10 wrinkles at the end of last pool season. I corrected the drainage and even lowered to water to a level that would have guaranteed either a floating liner or 1000...

    Borate?

boric | Duda Diesel Alternative Energy, Chemicals & Industrial Supply Store Granules are best- but make sure PH is in line before introducing. Yes, it sounds as if you added the Acid correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Borate?

The borage test kit I used was Lamotte. 50 tests on Amazon are $13 approx. You can purchase boric acid from Duda Diesel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Borate?

Mine always drifted up. Once my TA and PH was in line the borates kept them stable. Last year I had to add MA all the time. Not this year however. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Borate?

I can't really read your PH levels but if it's 8.0 then just add Muriatic Acid in small intervals testing every 30 minutes. You will need more MA than usual but it's not that bad. Borates do not ruin anything- or cause problems below 100 PPM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Borate?

I think you need to adjust PH to where you want it before Borates. Borates stabilize PH making it harder to move after introduced into the pool. I had low PH, added Borates, then it took a little more Borax to increase PH. I bought a borate test kit in Amazon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Granular Clorox CYA

I put 20 ounces in a sock, sat it in the skimmer, then proceeded to squeeze the sock for 5-10 minutes until the cya was completely dissolved. I then noticed my pumps psi went up 2 PSI. Is this okay? Since it was dissolved (milky) I don't know why my pressure went up. Thoughts?

Leaving filter off for the day - Will this cause issues?

I have used a submersible pump and garden hose before.

I see. Just wondering in case I get in that situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My pool is open, it's green, and the numbers are meh.

Why would you wait to test and lower Ph. It seems waiting to get FC down to 10 will allow the algae to get going again. Why not slam, let FC fall, then adjust PH? Might allow for quicker pool use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How to reduce reagent use during slam

Testing FC and read where you can use half the regular reagent when slamming. How do you do this? Do you put half the water? If so do you multiply drops by 1? Thanks

Does anyone else test FC,CC, and TC like me?

Does anyone else test FC,CC, and TC like me?

I am very much OCD and my data needs to be accurate for me to be satisfied. As a result, I just test the chlorine levels with the FAS DPD 3-4 times per week. Sometimes every day if I notice the Chlorine is changing rapidly. Every day I had approx. 32 ounces of bleach. This seems to work- I...

    Borates!!

Ok, so last year I followed the TFP method to the letter. Great experience so this year I decided to step up my game and use DE, a skimmer sock, and BORIC ACID. I elected to go the easy route and ordered 50 lbs from Duda diesel. This is where my problem began. I estimated that I would need 30lbs...

    DE Weird Question

I bought some DE and it came in a big box. After pouring some in the skimmer, diluted with water, I remembered that I forgot to remove the skimmer sock. I assumed the DE would have been captured in the sock, but every bit of it passed through the sock. Is the DE that small?

Should I go ahead and open?

Sorry- I meant Polyquat- I read here to use that when closing. I use only bleach and other chemicals recommended on this site. No pucks, etc.

Should I go ahead and open?

Well, my five month hibernation from all things related to the pool is over. I live in extreme S. Indiana (within a few miles of the KY state line). Normally by March the winter is over- I have seen snow in April maybe 2-3 times in the last 20 years (and it doesn't stick). My pool is covered...

Help- creases in the liner. Thx

When I closed the pool last winter I did not leave enough water in the pool. As a result, the water table pushed the liner up and when it settled there were a million creases. So I bought a new liner, filled the pool up with water and now we had 5 inches of rain and I'm noticing a couple...
