So I have a J315 Jacuzzi brand hot tub. A few years ago the display/controls started freaking out, flashing digits and such which I ignored and then the heater failed-just wouldn't heat. Eventually had the local pool store come out and they replaced the control board which fixed everything...

Anyone used one yet or is this brand new? Seems to have a lot of the power saving advantages of the Intelliflow and a huge price savings. Now you don't get the fancy flow monitoring/constant flow but you also save a lot of money. Thoughts? How much power savings with the permanent magnet...

I actually JUST did the same thing! Ordered a pump from a1pool. Took a while to receive as it was special order. I basically removed the old 1.5hp service factor 1.1 (SHP 1.65) motor that was using 8.2amps at 230v and replaced it with a AO Smith 2 speed (1hp, SF 1.65 for SHP 1.65 on high)...

Excellent. Full rated 1hp 1.65SF 2 speed it is then! Same SHP at 1.65, even at high speed it still uses almost an amp less/hr

Well it actually is a Superflo with a fairly cheap motor. 1.5hp with a service factor of just 1.1 so total functional HP of 1.65. Can I just remotor with a Whisperflo energy efficient 2 speed pump? They have much higher service factors, so it looks like I could get a 1 hp full rate dual speed...
