    Underwater glue

I know this is probably a dumb question but I have one of those decorative pool vinyl mats of a shark and wondering if there’s any such underwater glue where I could adhere it to the side of the pool wall (IG plaster/pebble sheen) that would set and hold underwater and not be really destructive...

    CYA 0? Several questions.

I have the TF100 testkit, and have a pool just under 1 year old and have been using this kit and readings for most of that time. Aside from some calcium scaling on my spa spillway I think it's been going fine. I test all of the below once a week (and FC/PH every 2-3 days) and as of last...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

one question about adding calcium chloride to pool - beginner's guide says sprinkle it in deep end, but I see other threads saying to pre-dissolve in a bucket to prevent staining. I have colored pebblesheen and don't want to stain, but I guess it's safe to sprinkle directly in deep per the pool...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

Yea, it does seem to. The pool co. told us if the water goes to a certain point below the overspill drain to fill it up to the bottom of the drain, and I'm finding it gets to that "spot" they told us about every 2-3 days. My pool does have a lot of sun exposure (sun rises and sets length-wise...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

Thanks for the reply. I think my question is how does the TA come down given my circumstances? I had thought you bring pH down to 7.2 or so, then aerate, but I was advised earlier in the thread not to aerate as it will bring my TA down to fast and create issues with my CSI.. So how do I bring...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

I am REALLY struggling keeping my pH in line and pretty much adding bleach each day (not sure if that's expected/normal?). Maybe I need additions twice a day? Latest updates below. I had pH at 7.8 on Aug 3 evening, added some acid to get down to 7.4 target, and when I checked Aug 4 evening...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

Reading #7 (Aug 3 - morning) ph=7.5 FC=5.5 CC=0 TA=220 My TA went up again. I checked fill water with same test and the TA of othat came out to 280 (I forgot to wipe the dropper off, the first few drops so not sure if it's still as accurate). So if that's true (that the TA of my fill water is...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

Thanks for the replys. I'm not sure I follow why my CSI is a concern - from the poolMath my CSI comes out to .43, which is high but in range, right? (note I did lower my gallons to 20k because I'm finding that seems to be more accurate with my additions). Here's my latest updates from past 2...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

Here's my update morning - added 51 oz Muriatic Acid lunch - added 60 oz Muriatic Acid Reading #4 pH 7.5 FC 7.5 CC .5 TA 260 CH 150 so my pH and chlorine seem OK now? CC is .5, is that OK? (it's a really light pink that 1 drop clears up, making .5 I guess). So should I now focus on...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

OK, so after I cleaned up my 1st reading, I had this info in pool calculator CYA 50 PH 8.2 1 FC 0 CC 280 TA 175 CH I put my pool as 20k (instead of the 24k that's in my signature as I think that may be more of what I have and I figured better low than high to start.) Based on that, I added...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

yea, not sure what I did but my FC/CC was way off. I re-measured and my FC is 1 (yikes!) and CC is 0. Remaining measurements seem to be the same when I re-checked. So guess I will focus on the pH, Chlorine, and CH levels for now.

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

I used pool math to get the number of oz. I would need, but then I used my own (wrong) math to convert that to # of bottles. ;) So after re-doing my math, yea, you're right, I would need a lot less than I thought I would need....my wallet just sighed from relief as well as my arms for having...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

oh gosh, I missed the CC part...was focused on the TA. Thanks so much for the help. So if I retest and find out I DO need to slam, and use liquid chlorine, we're talking like 30+ bottles if I read right? So I literally have to walk into Ace or similar and buy like 30 bottles or do they have...

New Pool - first testing and need feedback

Hi all, New to the forum. Been reading a lot from pool school and just had pool handed over to me, so want to confirm some things before I move ahead. My pool info is in my signature, but one point to add is that unfortunately I started reading this forum AFTER the fact, so as a result you...
