    Leaves in plumbing

I had our pool looking great and we had a storm come through and blew a bunch of leaves in the pool. By the morning the skimmer baskets were full and the rest of the leaves were on the bottom. So I vacuumed and then I lost all suction to one skimmer and the other one doesn't pull very well...

    Algae separating after flocculant

It sure makes the filtering process take longer, due to the particulates not suspending very long. And not to mention the pump down time. But if the algae is COMPLETELY dead, and the chlorine is high, I think IMHO, it's ok. Otherwise the algae takes over while the pump is off. Since yall...

    Algae separating after flocculant

Oh, and I couldn't keep my lab out of the pool all weekend and I only lost 3 ppm a day. Not bad. One perk of a massive pool.

    Algae separating after flocculant

Thanks! Yeah a few people enjoyed it actually. There wasn't much to report in between. I cheated and flocked it because I had the company coming. I finished on the afternoon of the 3rd. It would have taken 2 weeks probably at the rate it was going to filter completely.

    Water in...now what?

Be sure your Ph is correct (7.4) before adding chlorine. If the Ph isn't correct your chlorine will not be affective. And then adjust your alkalinity after adding the acid as needed. Low alkalinity will make your Ph fluctuate. Pros please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Algae separating after flocculant

Thanks for letting me know about the tabs. I took them out this morning and won't put them back until I'm done SLAMing. My pool is 40'x 25 1/2'. 10' deep end and 3' shallow. How do i put a signature? Do I have to make a certain amount of posts before I'm allowed? or do I need to be on a...

    Algae separating after flocculant

first round of chlorine for a 42000 gallon pool. Yes I have it running constantly. I can see the algae settling. I put in a lot of flocculant. Because I intended to vacuum it out before I joined this wonderful forum and learned about the SLAM process.

    Algae separating after flocculant

Thanks for the welcome! I went out and bought some liquid bleach from the store, a lot cheaper than a pool place. I've been using super shock @$4 a lb. it wasn't easy on the wallet. But anyway I'm in the SLAM process now. I had to put 24 96oz bottles in right off the bat. This is a HUGE pool...

I have an in ground pool with a vinyl liner. 42,000 gallons. I have the chemistry correct. The pool is green. I added 7 lbs of shock, cal hypo, and waited 1 hour (this is what the directions for the Flocculant say to do)and shut the pump/filter off. Added 2 bottles of Revive( a flocculant) it's...
