Suggestions for Above Ground Pool Light (add on)

Thanks for replying but I don't think that is true. I see at least a couple on Amazon that include transformers and are wired to drop in the pool without going through the wall.

Suggestions for Above Ground Pool Light (add on)

Does anyone have a suggestion for an add-on light for an above ground pool? I'm looking for the type that can be hooked up on the fly when you have company for an evening party. We have a full deck around our 30' above ground pool. So this would be something more of a magnetic type than a...

Patching 4" Round Hole in Vinyl Liner - Previously Pool Light

I took the light apart last night for a closer look. See attached pics. Turns out there isn't much of any rust involved below the light (a good thing) but more of a small crack in the wall. The outside of the hole at the bottom is actually very flared (bent over) with the crack in the middle...

Patching 4" Round Hole in Vinyl Liner - Previously Pool Light

Re: Patching 4" Round Hole in Vinyl Liner - Previously Pool Light The model of the light is a Hayward MODEL#SP056525A There are no screws involved in the installation. Basically you cut a circular hole in the liner and pool wall. There is an outer lens piece that gets pushed through the...

Patching 4" Round Hole in Vinyl Liner - Previously Pool Light

Hello everyone, When our pool was installed about 7 years ago, I made the unfortunate choice of having the pool company install a Hayward light (it was an option). This required them cutting a hole in the pool wall similar to what is done for the skimmer. I have a deck around half of the pool...

    AGP Mesh Cover Recommendations

Thanks. That helps. Here's the piece I don't understand. That type is pulled pretty tight and obviously there's a good gap between it and the water. What happens when it snows? Obviously it's a lot of weight and isn't going to melt instantly. Do the cords holding it down stretch to...

    AGP Mesh Cover Recommendations

Thanks. I really like that and also how it clamps down. The only think is that I built a deck right up to the edge of my pool halfway around it. So I really don't have any way of letting it hang over properly like in the picture. Only the very top of the pool is exposed where the deck is.

    Why Use a Pillow?

What's a round circle float? I'm also thinking car inner tubes now as well. Also large tractor tire inner tubes could really kick butt. Maybe Tractor Supply sells them?

    AGP Mesh Cover Recommendations

Have been using a solid cover for the 6 or so years I've had my pool. It has worked fine but my pool is 30' round and the cover can be quite a bear to work with let alone sucking water and leaves off all winter. My current cover is shot and was thinking about giving a mesh one a try. Can...

    Why Use a Pillow?

I rarely have pillows survive the whole winter without popping by spring. Does anyone sell quality ones built to survive a tough winter with snow & ice? I have a 30' round pool and after owning it about 7 years I still don't know exactly what I should be putting under the cover for the winter.

Pool Light Leaking - above ground pool

I'm in kind of a pickle with this one. Probably the one regret I have with my above ground pool was having the pool company install a light in it when the pool was built. The pool is about 6 years old and so is the light. The light is a Hayward SP056525A. My problem is the light is leaking...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Still using the liquid chlorine but I also have a huge bucket of powdered shock to get through. I would probably switch to just liquid after that although I try to minimize how much plastic waste I generate (bottles). I have always used a puck floater during the week and typically shock it once...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Just wanted to give some closure on this thread and put this 'exciting' couple of weeks behind me! You can see by the picture that I am fully clear and in business. Pool is cleaner than ever. Looking back, the challenges were two-fold. One challenge was the algae itself and the other was...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

When my daughter got home from school today she danced around the house yelling "It's a miracle. It's a miracle!" Massive improvement today. I ended up getting a whole new multi valve for the filter instead of just the spider gasket. It arrived today. The other washers under the lever were...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

For the first time tonight I finally feel like I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Tough to see from the picture but huge increase in clarity when I got home from work today. On the left is last week and on the right is tonight. Still have a ways to go but I'm getting there!

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Updates: Ordered new spider gasket for the filter. Will have in a couple days. No water test yet but took this mornings water to a different pool store: Total Chlorine 10.0 Free Chlorine 10.0 pH 7.2 Total Alkalinity 110 Calcium Hardness 300 Stabilizer 30 I'm currently running...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Thanks! I think that was the only link type I didn't try! Also thanks everyone for the lightning fast responses! If no one is too concerned that the pump/filter I'm using is undersized then I will push forward with it. Will order a good test kit and continue to add a gallon or so of bleach...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Pulled the valve apart again. What I believe to be the spider gasket is what is white, correct? Looking at pictures of a replacement it does look similar and that it should all pull out of there I think.

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Ok this should work. Thanks for the quick replies! The funny thing about the spider gasket is that when I pulled the valve off earlier today I looked at what I thought was it. The weird thing was that it appeared to me to be molded right into the valve itself and not removable. I know some...

Algae & Pump Questions - At Your Mercy!

Hello Everyone- Like many, this is my first post and of course pool problems brought me here! Wish it was under better circumstances :) I'm throwing any pride I have left out the window and giving you all the details. I am spiraling downward quickly with all this and it's time to take a step...
