    Bad salt cell?

Is it possible to have a bad cell without getting any error messages? I am rapidly losing chlorine while running 100% 12 hours/day. I have also been adding bleach, but still losing chlorine at a rapid pace. I am currently shocking. If that doesn't work, Jandy guy wants me to take water...

    1st Filter Clean

Finally got around to cleaning my filters a couple of weeks ago. They were pretty bad. However, after about of hour of spraying with a garden hose, they are now clean. My question is this....why didn't the pressure on my filter gauge ever rise to indicate they were dirty (pool was finished...

    FC goes up overnight..?

I know there was another recent thread on this, but mine appears to be different. I did the FC overnight test two nights in a row and got the same result. In the evening after the pumps shut down, I get a FC level of 8.5. The following morning, before the pumps kick on, or sunlight hits the...

    My numbers...

Water seems a little off clarity wise (not bad...can still clearly see the tops of the screws in the drains of the deep end. I do have a touch of OCD, so I notice everything I think). For one thing, I just cleaned my filter for the first time. It was dirty, but I have no frame of reference as...

    Hurricane Season

This will be our first full summer with a pool. Last summer we were just so glad to be done with the construction and swimming, I didn't put a lot of thought into it. With that being said, I'm curious what other pool owners in the Gulf Coast region do in preparation for a storm. I've been...

    CLarifiers/Sequestering Agents

My water looks crystal clear; however, I have read on the Pebble Tec website that they recommend Jack's Magic Purple Stuff. Is this necessary? What are the pros/cons of adding this stuff? Just curious....

    New TF-100 Owner

Just received my TF-100 in the mail yesterday and tested it out today. My numbers are as follows: FC: 5 CC: 0 TC: 5 pH: 7.8 TA: 110 CH: 320 CYA: 38 Temp: 52 I'm not sure if I'm doing the CYA test correctly. They say add the solution until you can no longer see the black dot at the bottom of...

    Heavy Rain

We had a tremendously heavy downpour here in SE Texas last night, receiving 5 inches of rain in about 3 or 4 hours. My pool went from crystal clear, to super cloudy overnight. Checked the numbers and they appear to be spot on. I don't know if it's just all the rain water or what? Travis

    Cold Weather in SE Texas

I live in SE Texas and it is supposed to get cold here (anything below freezing is COLD here) tonight. I checked and my freeze protect is set a 34, and it is programmed to run the filter pump. Is that all I need to run? What else, if anything, should I check to freeze protect. The menu...

    High Chlorine LEvels

Took my water to a nearby pool store on Saturday. First off, the sample was about 3 hours old when it was tested, so I don't know what effects that had. My numbers were as follows: FC 8.0 ppm TC 8.0 ppm CC 0.00 PH 7.4 ppm Hardness 165 ppm Alk 115 ppm CYA 50 ppm Copper 0.0 Iron 0.0 My...

Mirage Custom Pools Conroe or Topaz Pools The Woodlands

Just checking to see if anyone here has had any experience with the following companies/owners: Topaz Pools out of the Woodlands (Curtis Langhans) Mirage Swimming Pools of Conroe (Rick and Cheryl Kuykendall) These are the two front runners for my pool as of right now. Any information would...

New Pool Proposal - Does this sound about right?

I live approximately an hour north of Houston and am looking to break ground on our pool in a few weeks. We have a builder picked out (I think), and they appear to know what they are doing. Here is what they are proposing: Pool Dimensions Perimeter: 91' Length: 29' Width: 21' and 16'4" Depth...
