    Replace old diving board

Hi All, I have a diving board - 22 years old and is done. Tripod in concrete is in good shape and if I can find a new base and board, I'd easily replace it myself (I take it into my shed each fall - base and board - easy to do). Problem is, I can't find a base that will fit my current tripod and...

    Part for Zinc Anode Installation

Hi All, Having trouble finding a part for my zinc anode installation. Company who makes it (C-M-P.com) tells me it is in stock and any pool store should be able to order it for me. No direct to consumer. I'm having a tough time finding the clear plastic lid (with hole in center through which...

Iron persists - complete water change needed

Hi All, Many of you have been helpful this summer as I struggled with iron after 20 years with none. I have figured it is likely due to my town having done renovations on water pipes and the fact that my home is the lowest point in neighborhood. Had professional lab testing and municipal water...

    Iron Saga continued...

Hi again, Quick overview of history - I am totally on top of my pool chemistry - especially since TFP! Iron stains end of last season before closing - waited for opening this season for low chlorine (zero) and cool temps // first AA was great and immediate and I went back up too quickly for...

Iron persists! Time for water change...

Hi All - thanks for all the help and suggestions recently. I did the AA treatment twice (likely went too quickly on raising chlorine first time). Second time was very patient and still light staining is back - much better than before but returning none the less. I'm considering changing all...

    Cement coping damage - fixes???

Hi All, See pics for damage to cement coping after 19 years. 2 main spots - most of the coping OK. I'm wondering if anyone has used some kind of clear, spray-on product that can seal it as it is and prevent it from getting worse. I could live with that for now. Also, if not what I am wondering...

    Iron, AA going forward

Hi All, I am referring to my recent adventures with iron stains and AA, sequestrant, etc. After screwing up and raising my chlorine too quickly (even though I THOUGHT I was going slowly) and adding to that by using non-chlorine shock (which has the same oxidizing effect), I did it all again...

    AA and raising PH/Chlorine

Hi All, Is it safe to assume that after AA treatment for iron, as long as one SLOWLY raises PH and chlorine, the iron will remain sequestered? Slowness is key? I hope this is correct. If not, whenever you get PH and chlorine back to normal, iron staining will return. Thanks for any thoughts, Jeff

    Iron frustrations lingering...Ugh...

Hi All, I wrote last fall about this issue and did an ascorbic acid treatment then - after reading all about it on TFP. Just before closing, the stains returned and I closed for winter last Sept. Now it is getting hot in NJ (missed the opportunity for an early opening and cool weather which...

    Ascorbic Acid Treatment Issue

Hi All, I had some staining and used a vitamin C tab to test and it came right off. So, I read all the articles here about ascorbic acid treatments of stains and followed closely. Worked so fast and amazingly well. Really impressive. I kept PH at 7.2 and slowly raised chlorine over a couple...

Why 4-6 ppm FC for SWG?

Hi All, Been part of TFP for years and have a good degree of mastery of chemistry. I'm wondering the rationale for recommending 4-6 ppm for a pool with SWG? It definitely seems to take color out of my liner quicker than when I kept levels of FC at 1-3 ppm. Wondering the reasoning so I can...

High PH - low Alkalinity -- SWG

Hi All, I've been smooth sailing for some time and am now in a tricky spot with my SWG. TA has been hovering around 50/55. not too bad but a bit lower than I'd like. PH hovering around 7.8. not too high but near the top of range. Yesterday PH went to about 8.0 and I used Leslies Dry Acid to...

Liner Lock failing - need a solution

Hi All, I've posted before about this but still no solution. My liner is three years old and all liner lock was replaced at that time. Liner lock pops regularly around pool in several spots, especially where pool curves outward. My pool is 16 years old and I wonder if the track itself (into...

    Liner out of track

Hi All - my liner lock keeps coming out. 20'x40' in ground and replacement liner is 3 years old. Liner itself stays in all season even when liner lock pops out but over the winter (pool is closed from Oct-May) I get liner lock pops and some liner too. With my last liner (original) I knocked some...

    Mud stain - vinyl liner

Hi All: I recently had some renovation work done and my pool had to be pumped out into holding pools. While the work was being done in the deep end a bit of water leaked into the shallow end from the steps. The water was reddish brown presumably from the ground water under the liner and behind...

Is it possible to remove and then replace the SAME liner???

Hi All: I have gotten a great deal of good information from the posts here and this is my first question. Thanks for all the hlep along the way and for whatever information you have for me now. I'll try to be brief but it is a bit complicated and requires some background I used the pool...
