Losing Chlorine FC 28 to 7 in 24 hours

So I've been maintaining FC of 20 for 3 days. Water is and has always been clear. CC goes back and forth from 0.0 to 0.5. OCLT has been 4-5 loss each night. We've removed, cleaned and sanitized the ladder, brushed pool etc. I thought we would have seen improvements as far as not losing so much...

Losing Chlorine FC 28 to 7 in 24 hours

Thanks, pool is clear, CC is 0, have not done the overnight test yet. We haven't had issues before and are consistent on maintenance. Just noticed the increase in consumption. How harmful is swimming in a pool in this condition w/ possible algae?

Losing Chlorine FC 28 to 7 in 24 hours

FC 7 CC 0 PH 7.5 CYA 45 Had 0.5 CC so brought up to SLAM 2 days in a row, went from 28 to 7 in 24 hours both days. Outside temp high 91. What should I be looking at? I use 10% liquid bleach. Thanks

    CYA level dropping

    CYA level dropping

Adjusted CYA to 50 when we opened pool in May, now is at 30. The past month or so, the chlorine demand has increased, I attributed this to warmer weather and full sun, we've had a stretch of high 90's. We have had some heavy rains, but other than backwashing once in awhile, I haven't removed any...

Pool wall and rail(resin) moves with water

New pool has more movement when kids are jumping in and splashing. Previous pool didn't move. Movement is in wall and top resin rail. Anyone else have this?

Liquidator not keeping up with FC demand

Pool water looks clear, PH 7.4, CYA 55, FC about 5, CC 0. I can see the yellow at the bottom of the Liquidator. How much bleach should it take for a 13,500 gallon pool with a FC loss of about 2 per day? Maybe it takes more bleach than I realize.

Liquidator not keeping up with FC demand

I have the Liquidator installed and working, but doesn't seem to be keeping up with chlorine demand. Pool is in full sun, I have it set to run 8 hours per night, the flow meter shows 4. 24' diameter pool 4' deep. CYA is about 55. I'm trying to keep it at 6-7 FC. I wouldn't think I would lose...

    Liquidator low flow

I just installed the Liquidator chlorine injection system. I can't get any flow when on the low setting, some flow on high. If I restrict skimmer flow, the LQ flow can max out when the pump is on high. If I install the supply tube directly into the pump drain plug will this help. I've read about...

    Pool wall rust

Started pumping water out of pool. As expected behind liner was larger rust area. We started to notice bumpy areas at other areas of the pool on the face of the liner. When you run your hand across you can hear a crunch sound, rust I'm sure. Could there be pinholes all over? We have an overlap...

    Pool wall rust

Thank you for the info. I was not aware of rust converter products and I will definitely look into it. I agree about the coating. This is our first pool, we bought online and installed ourselves. Maybe the quality is not up to par. I'm definitely not an expert about pools or the chemistry...

    SWG rusting wall

I have a 4 year old AGP with rust about a foot down from the top, apparently a liner leak, causing rust from inside out. Also, rust and peeling paint along bottom of pool. Anyone else with these issues? How did you fix? How do I know if wall is beyond repair? I like the SWG but the pool won't...

    Pool wall rust

Also, the bottom 4" around the perimeter of the pool, is beginning rust and peeling paint. I had fabric and CA-7 clean aggregate around the pool, when I pulled it back I saw the rust. Everyone I've talked to says it's due to the SWG. Definitely worse along the bottom under the skimmer. BTW, what...

    Pool wall rust

Our pool is 4 years old, we ordered online and installed ourselves. There is a 5" diameter rust spot on the outside wall approximately 1.5' from the top. I started to sand and some water started to drip. I don't think there is a hole in the liner, but the water is coming from somewhere. I...

    Aqua Trol plug question

Yes, I have the same setup, plugs vertically into the bottom of the control cabinet. Sounds like it's not an issue. Thanks for the responses.

    Aqua Trol plug question

I just purchased an Aqua Trol SWG. The power source is a GFCI with plastic cover. The pump(Hayward Power Flo Matrix) has a three pronged plug which plugs into the bottom of the Aqua Trol control cabinet. This outlet is not technically 'covered/enclosed' like the GFCI. Is this safe? I haven't...

Can't install bonding loop completely around pool

I didn't learn of pool bonding until after pool was installed. No one I've asked locally knows anything about bonding. I thought I would bond myself, but the pool is partially in sloping ground with a deck. I am not able to run the #8 AWG wire completely around pool. If I could run the wire...

Help replacing AGP pump and sand filter

I am considering a 2 speed pump, Amazon.com : Hayward SP15922S Power-Flo Matrix Above-Ground Pump 2-Speed : Swimming Pool Water Pumps : Patio, Lawn Garden, and an 18" sand filter, to replace my existing. I would like to run on low speed for filtering, and use on high to vacuum. Will this pump...

Bonding existing AGP with retaining wall

Thanks for the responses. Just to clarify the only part Intex is the pump, filter, swg. The pool is 52" steel wall and uprights. So, it sounds like the continuous loop is a necessity. If I ran the wire, between the pool and wall, would covering with CA-6(aggregate with fines) give the same...

Bonding existing AGP with retaining wall

When we built our pool, I didn't have much knowledge about pools, let alone building one. We located our pool in an area where the backside had to be cut 3' or so to level the existing ground. We built a retaining wall and deck on that side of the pool. I didn't know about bonding until after...

    is CYA 90 w/SWG OK?

Thanks, I thought I had been waiting long enough, apparently not. Would you recommend raising FC up to 5 or 6? Also, what happens when you have too much CYA?

    is CYA 90 w/SWG OK?

I have been gradually adding CYA, as per Pool School, to get up to 70(SWG). June 5th was 50, added more, June 12th was 60, waited a few days then added as per Pool Math. Today is 90. I know the recommendation is 70-80, is 90 too high? Will it lower on its own? Should I adjust FC? It is currently...
