    New Intex Pool Setup Tips?

I'd recommend if you are using a saltwater system to stop using it. I have heard countless stories and know of many people that have had their intex frame rust because they were using a saltwater system. That would save you from the rust in my opinion anyways Mike

How much longer until you open?

I opened mine on march 5th. Water is 60 degrees and I'm also waiting until 70 degree water but I could be tempted at 67 degrees as nice as the water looks.

    Poolside changing area/cabana

I was wondering if any of you have a poolside changing area/cabana area? I was thinking about making one. The kids and their friends all summer long come in the house after being outside just dripping. So I thought if I had an area from them to change outside that would really help. If any of...

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Well the deed is done. The hole is cut. I have a very slight leak (drip) at the bottom of the Hayward skimmer where the end screws in and the water is currently refilling the part that I lost below the hole. Won't try the pump until tomorrow after work. This was a huge step for me as I treat my...

You said a slight leak. How to you fix this? Did you end up splitting the gasket?

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Good question. I have same problem. What I'm going to do is keep them hooked up to the pump that came with the pool and get a fountain to spray into the pool on the return.

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Here's a question I have two butterfly gaskets for the Hayward skimmer. Any chance I could use them both rather then cut my gasket in two? Would it be any better to use two vs cut one? Mike

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

There's enough people on here that have done it and I've never heard anyone say not to do it. If you are that worried about you can always put a brace under it? I'm thinking of doing this myself

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Hi Dom After reading what you said about why you didn't hard plumb your pool because when you are in it, it's always moving made me think. The kids get that pool moving so much I end up always having to tell them to be a bit more careful. So makes me really think. What did you use to connect...

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

I just received my new sand filter in the mail today. Boy I can't wait! I wish it was done now but I need to drain some of the pool. It sounds like it's easier to completely split the liner then to guess how far to cut correct? Mike

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Hi Dom When you mean you "split" the gasket do you mean you completely cut it in two? My gasket is currently split but not in two. Just wondering if I need to do more to my gasket.

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Thanks again Dom I must admit I'm terrified about the thought of cutting my liner. Everything inside of me is saying not to do it, but I know it will be a better pool because of it

Thanks Dom did you use the original return hole for your updated return hole? And if so wasntbthe hole too big for the Hayward return jet fitting? Just wondering if you used that hole how did you get around it? Thanks Mike

Great point. I had wanted to put a fountain on. Thanks. Any idea if I will need to cut some of the screws?

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

Don't you cut where your return hole is? I've got the new intex with three holes so I thought I need to cut where the return currently is and use one of the two where the inlet lines are as my new return. By doing that and then having the water halfway up the skimmer it's about 4 to 6 inches. I...

Intex pool thru wall skimmer ?

I'm getting my intex 26 footer hard plumbed on Monday and I'm adding a thru wall skimmer. I'm going to be loosing about six to eight inches of water height because of it. Do any of you that have already done this ever regret putting a thru wall skimmer rather then have the extra height? Just...

    Covering round Intex frame

I saw an old YouTube video where a lady put this reed fencing around it. And trimmed the top to match the height of the pool. Another guy on YouTube built a wood fence all around his pool. Use your imagination and have fun doing it. I personally don't mind the gray circle and just landscape...

Hi I'm getting a 3000 gph 1 hp 120lb intex sand filter. I'm wanting to put in a thru wall skimmer and hard plumb it using 1.5 inch schedule 40 piping. So my question is what would I need to hook up this pvc piping to the intex sand filter? Thanks in advance Mike

Start over or try to clear up

Thanks everyone that has given advise. I think my biggest problem is I only have to filter that came with the intex pool. It's good to keep an already maintained pool maintained but the mess I've got not able to get it done, plus I can't properly vacuum etc etc. I'm having a pool guy come over...

Thank you! Ok, our local Atwood's sells liquid chlorine and I bought 4 gallons last night. I took a sample of the water and it's a light green tint. A lot lighter then I had imagined it would be. I can't see the bottom to vacuum. If I try draining it, like I did this morning it just wants to...

I have never experienced such bad water. I've always started new water each year. I've nearly always maintained crystal clear water. So I'm wanting some advise that's all. I thought these forums were here to help. I know I need to slam the pool. I've done that. I was just asking for more...
