I'd recommend if you are using a saltwater system to stop using it. I have heard countless stories and know of many people that have had their intex frame rust because they were using a saltwater system. That would save you from the rust in my opinion anyways Mike

Good question. I have same problem. What I'm going to do is keep them hooked up to the pump that came with the pool and get a fountain to spray into the pool on the return.

Here's a question I have two butterfly gaskets for the Hayward skimmer. Any chance I could use them both rather then cut my gasket in two? Would it be any better to use two vs cut one? Mike

There's enough people on here that have done it and I've never heard anyone say not to do it. If you are that worried about you can always put a brace under it? I'm thinking of doing this myself

I just received my new sand filter in the mail today. Boy I can't wait! I wish it was done now but I need to drain some of the pool. It sounds like it's easier to completely split the liner then to guess how far to cut correct? Mike

Hi Dom When you mean you "split" the gasket do you mean you completely cut it in two? My gasket is currently split but not in two. Just wondering if I need to do more to my gasket.

Hi I'm getting a 3000 gph 1 hp 120lb intex sand filter. I'm wanting to put in a thru wall skimmer and hard plumb it using 1.5 inch schedule 40 piping. So my question is what would I need to hook up this pvc piping to the intex sand filter? Thanks in advance Mike
