    July 8th test results

Yes, I had about 3.5 lbs left from the spring. I’ll prob need another 3.5 lbs. Other than that I suppose everything else is good? I did add some baking soda to bring the TA up some. Thanks

    That’s fantastic. Thanks, Gene

    Abnormal readings

Jim, FYI and I’m sure you already know this. I cut the white wire on the flow switch which is the temp sensor and now it reads correctly. That for sure confirms a bad temp thermistor as it defaults to 77 degrees. I’ve learned a lot from TFP over the years and just found an article in the...

    Abnormal readings

Another question. If I order a replacement flow switch, will an off brand like Excelfu be as good as OEM replacement or should I get the OEM Pentaire switch? Thanks

    Abnormal readings

Thank Jim. Will another brand SWG work with the Pentaire system? Just curious, if there’s a known problem with them if I should get a better one that will last longer. I’ve been through 3 SWG’s in 11 years so don’t know if that’s normal or about on par with expectations.

    Abnormal readings

Is it normal for a SWG to read lower than what the Taylor K-1766 test reads. I have the Pentaire IC40 with Easy Touch system. The easy touch diagnostics shows 2450 ppm whereas the Taylor K-1766 shows 3600. Big discrepancy. If I add more salt to get the SWG to where it needs to be in order to...

    Remodel

Found out that they added Start Up Tec during the fill. This stuff is amazing! There was no dust whatsoever.

    Remodel

All is good in poolville, 😂. Got my CH to 250. Just added stabilizer. Brushing 2 times a day but not much dust at all. I think the sequestrant and the fact I’m keeping my PH between 7.2 and 7.5 is helping with dust or they did a fantastic job on the acid wash.

    Remodel

I’m in charge of the start up. They did an acid wash on the pebble sheen before filling and that’s it. Yes, I’m using bleach for chlorine.

    Remodel

I just had my pool remodeled. Our pool is 11 years old. We just had the prism blue pebble sheen removed and went back with blue surf pebble sheen. I just started up the pool yesterday afternoon. Sequestrant was added. The CH is only 75. PH is 7.2. TA is 80. Will be adding stabilizer this...

Need some advice on CYA, TA, & CH

Water is clear, salt is 3500. I was thinking the same thing after plugging it in to the pool math calculator but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. Thanks for the advice guys!

Need some advice on CYA, TA, & CH

Using my TF-100 Test Kit here's my readings FC = 5.5 CC = 0.5 CH = 350 TA = 50 CYA = 20 PH = 7.8 Sounds like I need to add stabilizer and I'd like to get my CH to 300. I've never had TA that low. Thanks in advance for your help.

I received my TF-100 & Taylor K-1766 salt test kit. Here are my results.

That's what I figured Jason. I'm a little low on salt according to my tests from above, does the salt read lower with cold water? I know the swg will show low salt below 52 but will the Taylor salt test K-1766 read low also?...thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tested my fill/tap water: FC - .5 CH - 75 TA - 250 PH - 8.2 Sound about right?

I received my TF-100 & Taylor K-1766 salt test kit. Here are my results.

Another question I had was about salt readings in winter. Will the test results usually read lower ppm with cold water? The reason I ask is that last winter my panel was reading around 2800. I added a couple of bags of salt salt and it it didn't raise it much. I didn't add any more salt after...

The chlorine test only required 1drop to change. Is there something I'm missing?

Water temp is 42 degrees. Water is clear. FC- 0.5 CC- 0.5 TC-.1 CH- 350 (some calcium deposits on some tiles & deposits on rocks in water under waterfall) TA- 90 CYA- 30 PH- 7.8 Borate test strip shows 15 but I haven't added any. Ordered testing materials.

Well guess I've been lucky so far just using my test kit that my builder supplied me. I don't trust the pool stores when they test my water, so with the TF-100 I'm hoping I never have to go back there again. My water has remained clear since it was filled in 2011 so I guess I must have been...

I ordered the TF-100, magnetic stirrer, Taylor K-1766 Salt Test, & Borates test strips from TFTestkits.net couple days ago. Should be here the 28th. I'm ready to start testing efficiently & effectively! 8-)

Pentair Warranty - Its Been an Interesting Year of Failures

Re: Pentair Warranty - Its Been an Interesting Year of Failu I agree with Jerry. The problems your having are all electrical related. Have you had any power surges or storms that could have caused this? It certainly could be a part failure too. I have all Pentair equipment also & my 3 years...
