Thanks for the feedback. I hope this thread helps someone else and they can catch it a lot quicker than I did. My pool is back to .5 CC and has passed all tests! Starting to let the FC drift down back to normal levels. I would recommend to anyone else using Jack's #2, to start the SLAM...

OK!!! .5 CC today! FINALLY!!! Going for the OCLT tonight! Wish me luck...We've got clear water, we've got .5 CC....we'll see!

Think we're closer! CC down to 7 from 17! Tomorrow is a week, but we're getting there. Still in SLAM mode, but I think another day or 2 and we'll be there!

added the titrant drops first as indicated, and added 8 drops of indicator dye. Color still went from pink to clear. I used a test strip (which I hate), and it falls within the calcium hardness range, so I think the SLAM may be just bleaching it out right now? I'm going to get the FC and CC...

My CH test is turning pink to clear now instead of the dark pink to blue. What's going on?

I think it's working...maintaining a FC level of 25 and the CC has dropped to 17. Now the next problem. CH is not registering at all! Does the SLAM process take away CH???

Ok, I think I may be moving in the right direction. The FC and CC have reached a "breakeven" point where they are both measuring 23. I've added more bleach to bump the FC up and hopefully start seeing results. If anyone has a different recommendation, please help! Thanks.

We'll see where its at tonight when I get home. I may continue the SLAM for a day or 2 more in hopes of that high CC of 25 to come down.

Well considering the pool is already at SLAM level, I guess we'll see what happens. Have you ever seen CC go up to 25 like that??? I may also heat the pool this weekend and get the water temp up in the 70's to help the process. By keeping it at SLAM level, it seems the CC is staying or...

Should I continue to SLAM? or do you recommend I let it go and just use FC + CC reading as my FC?

It took care of the stains, but the readings are not coming in correctly. I'm just nervous that now my chlorine is now at 50 being you add FC + CC. The water is crystal clear and so it makes no sense. I'll check again tomorrow and hopefully it will start to balance out. If someone else knows...

HELP! I started the SLAM process....First got the FC up to 24 as directed by the CYA chart. 1 hour later FC down to 13 and CC had risen up to 15 from 10. Added another 2 1/2 gal of bleach to bring up FC back to 24, and remeasured. CC now at 25!!!??? What is going on? I thought the SLAM...

Just got off the phone with a tech from Jack's Magic. He is recommending being the 30 days has expired and my CC is at 7 now I should shock it out. He also wanted to make sure that my PH and ALK was back in balance which it is. Do you agree? Thanks.

Ok, 30 days gone, and still no difference in measurement. I know you mentioned if its fall it may take a bit longer. Any estimates as to when it should go back? My CC measured 8 yesterday and the FC measured 1, which was a bit of an improvement. I've actually turned my SWG way down to get it...

I cannot get enough pressure to the cleaner line to make the cleaner run at the recommended 28-32 rpm. Playing with the valves today, I closed the pool return line to see if the cleaner line would pick up the necessary pressure. It did. I don't want to run the return line closed all of the time...

I was wondering if there was a specific way to adjust your return valve? I don't have it "all the way" open, rather about 1/4 of the way to allow enough pressure to run my cleaner which is attached to an actuator valve. Is this bad to restrict the return to the pool, or should I have it wide...
