    Replacing Infinity Edge Pump

Is there an easy method to control an actuator via timer to change the suction on a 3-way valve? This would allow me to filter from the catch basin for a couple of hours and then the main pool for the rest of the time? I don't want to spend the money on these overpriced automation systems that...

Here is a picture of the edge. . This is with a panoramic so it looks rounder than it really is.

    Replacing Infinity Edge Pump

I'm not sure if this helps in determining size of pump needed, but I have a 1.5HP pump that filters the main pool and I am able to turn a valve which changes the filtration to pull from the main drains in the pool to the drains in the catch basin. When I do this it creates a nice flow over the...

Robotic Cleaner that works in Infinity Edge Catch Basin?

The depth is about 3 feet. I'm okay with either letting it run on a timer or taking it in and out. The basin never runs dry. It controls the infinity edge which is in essence the skimmer for my pool.

    Replacing Infinity Edge Pump

The pump is a Speck Pump Model 21-80 BS. I would like something that is less of an energy hog and maybe multiple speeds so I can have a trickle flow over the edge instead of Niagra Falls. Is it okay to reduce the pipe size at the pump and then bring it back up after the pump on the return side?

Robotic Cleaner that works in Infinity Edge Catch Basin?

Unfortunately if the debris sits there for more than a couple of hours it leaves stains on my new Pebbletec finish and I end up having to put chlorine granules on them, let them sit and scrub them. I'm looking for something automatic. I'm out there with my leaf rake and vacuum a lot, but...

Robotic Cleaner that works in Infinity Edge Catch Basin?

My catch basin on my infinity edge pool has no method of filtration so debris builds up there. I am looking for a robotic pool cleaner to deal with the catch basin. The issue I have is that the basin is narrow (about 3 feet wide) and is in a semi circle that is about 50 feet in circumference...

    Replacing Infinity Edge Pump

Pool Details: In Ground PebbleTec 30000 gallons. Infinity edge is 40'. A 4.5 HP pump currently runs the infinity edge. This pump has 4" pipe coming in and going out of the pump. I want to replace this with a variable speed pump for obvious reasons (energy HOG!). Can I reduce the 4"...

    Massive pump power consumption

Are there other pumps that I could consider? The flow with the current pump is very strong over the edge so I don't think I need as much HP as I have to have a decent effect. That said, I want to reduce power consumption. I have the system only running 20 mins/ twice a day on the spillover...

    Massive pump power consumption

The check valves are 4". They are covered by grates in the bottom of the catch basin. The catch basin is filled to about 3 feet deep so there is no air getting to the valves. The water flow is more than sufficient so the lines aren't clogged. The other two are capped because I was told I...

    Massive pump power consumption

The infinity edge is approximately 30 feet across (the edge itself is a semi circle) and feeds into a catch basin that is approx 35x4' and sits below the edge by about 10' (to the bottom of the basin). There are two 4" check valves located in the floor of the catch basin that go up to the pump...

    Massive pump power consumption

The meter reads KWh. Without the pump with normal usage of refrigerator, etc I burn about .5-1 KWh and nothing other than that was running during the test and I factored that in - the actual number was 6KWh higher after the 20 minute run of the pump. Since this is wired 230V I'm wondering if...

    Massive pump power consumption

It is a Speck Pump model # 21-80/33BS. Yes, I am taking a meter reading with the pump off, then turning it on for 20 minutes then turning it off and taking a reading immediately after.

    Massive pump power consumption

I have a 30K gallon inground plaster infinity edge pool that came with a home I purchased a year ago. The pool is currently plumbed with 3 single speed pumps that are about 6 years old. There is no skimmer in the pool (the IE acts as a skimmer) The infinity edge runs on a 4HP pump that...
