Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

How about strap lounge chairs like the kinds you see in resorts along the Hawaii coast? http://www.lacksoutdoorfurniture.com/st ... cts_id=202 http://www.outdoorgardenfurniture.net/c ... tof10.aspx The second one says 14" high so 18" deep water seems to be just about right. Maybe even a tiny...

Where do you buy those lounge chairs that don't get destroyed by the water? I need to put that on my shopping list! Thanks. Katherine

    Tonedeaf's Pool build

I love it! I am stealing your waterfall if you don't mind. I have been trying to tell our PB about the flat rocks to make the waterfall more "rolling stream" rather than a long fall of water (if that makes sense) and yours is perfect! WOuld you post a pix with the water going through the...

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

Thanks. I like the idea of doing it 9" so that it is shallow enough for me to sit there. We have it drawn at 18" deep but I think that might be too deep for it all. Maybe we can do it stepwise... Luckily this is easy to change according to my PB as long as they have not shot the pool yet...

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

Thank you for all of your replies! I am bumping this thread because we made some changes to our design. We decided to move the waterfall to the left of the pool by the existing patio. Because our view is out there, we can't make it too tall. I am guessing it will be more like 3 feet and be...

    Landmark's pool build

Can't wait to see! It's like awaiting the birth of a child!! What was the depth of your pool by the way? I like how gently it slopes down and you have a nice big shallow end. Katherine

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

Thanks for all the great comments. I appreciate it. Here is our preliminary list: Pool size: 41x18 (max width) 112 perimeter feet 506 squ feet 7ft depth (no diving rock -- can't get it to work anywhere) Deep end will be on right, unless you convince me otherwise. 2 intelliflo 4x160 pumps...

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

My PB said not to go too much bigger because right now it is 25,000 gallons and the cost of heating is very high if it's much larger. Does that sound right? Thanks! Katherine

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

Thank you! We love our backyard except for the grass, which is well worn by our dog. You hit on the 2 or 3 main issues I have. One is that I am worried about the depth. Where should it be deepest? In the middle? Or on the right? Yes, that is a smaller tanning ledge on the very...

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

Here are some of the basics: The pool is freeform obviously, about 42' length and about 18' max width. Spa is 7 feet, raised about 9 inches above gazebo height, which is already about 15" above ground level. As you can see from the pix, there is a lot of shade in the late afternoon but the...

Starting our pool -- Any comments on design

We are in the beginning stages of a pool and spa project. Any comments from all of you experts? We'd appreciate any help. Thanks, Katherine and Greg (in North San Diego) Photos of our yard from right to left, followed by sketches we made and then to scale sketch from PB. Our PB sketch...
