    Sungrabber solar panel plumbing

The rubber couplings that came with my SunGrabber kit are reinforced hose, not just rubber couplings. They look like radiator hose to me. The PVC pipe is connected to the hose couplings with a 1-1/4" X 1-1/2" PVC barbed adapter.

Navigator gets stuck on main drain

I had the same problem with my Navigator and 2 main drain covers. So I modified the drain covers with a 4" PVC cap that I cut down to make shorter, drilled a couple holes in the sides of the cap so I could zip tie the cap to the top of the cover. This makes a little dome on the top of the drain...

    Water STILL cloudy

I shocked my pool for weeks trying to get it to clear and finally found the problem was my sand filter. This is what I had found, cloudy-milky-water-will-not-clear-t8805.html After I replaced the sand in the filter the pool cleared overnight.

Re: Not sure where to start? The sand I took out of the filter looks like normal sand to me too. The new sand I got from the pool store is white. After putting the pea gravel and new sand in the filter the pool water cleared up overnight. It's the first time all summer that it has been clear...

Thanks, I did fill the pool with well water and it cleaned up just fine. But I'm having a problem with the sand in my filter and I don't know why.

Re: Not sure where to start? That's funny about the Nature2, after finding TFP I see that the Nature2 is a gimick. The PC my have used something to clear the water. Sand started coming out the discharge pipe when backwashing when the pool was about a month old. Sand never went into the pool.

    Pea Gravel in sand filter?

Looks good. I just covered the laterals about a one or two inches with pea gravel which is about 20%.

Re: Not sure where to start? Thanks to TFP my pool chemistry has been good for the past week but the water still hasn't cleared completely and I've been having a problem all summer with the water getting cloudy every time I vacuum, so I decided it was time to open up the filter. This is what I...

    Pea Gravel in sand filter?

I need to replace the sand in my filter. It is a 300lb sand filter for a 18,000 gal pool. If I put enough pea gravel in the bottom of the filter to cover the laterals will it cut down the capacity of the filter to much for my size pool?

    Sand Filter

Hotrod Every time I vacuum the pool gets cloudy so I want to try some DE in my sand filter. How much do you think I should try? My filter is 300#. I'm guessing that I would add the DE through the skimmer?

Re: Not sure where to start? Well to make a short answer long, it hasn't been clear this year but, last year when the pool was opened in mid September it was super clear. I remember being just amazed how beautiful it looked after being filled with my crappy well water. The pool was only open...

Re: Not sure where to start? The filter has been running 24/7 all summer. I've been adding chlorine twice a day, first thing in the morning and than early evening. I've been testing the water and using the Pool Calculator and adding enough chlorine to raise the FC to around 17 or 18 ppm.

Re: Not sure where to start? Day 14 progress report: I've been shocking the pool for 14 days. I've also been adding muriatic acid and doing some aeration to start bring down the TA level. I've also replaced some pool water with softened water to help bring down the CA. The test results today...

For anyone considering solar heat-I have a 21K gal hot tub

John T That sure is doing the job. I have been looking into a solar system for our 18k IG. I've seen several different systems on the internet and am wondering what you are using and how it's installed?
