    New to pools and pumps

I have something similar happen when either the skimmer basket or the strainer pot are full and the pump can't draw enough water. Have you checked those?

Oops. Pulled out the standpipe and laterals.

Thanks Richard. Shop vac did the trick. Took the suggestion from another thread and put the shop vac in a wheelbarrow to contain the sand and to minimize bending down. Conveniently the opening is a little bigger than a bleach bottle so I cut the bottom off one to make a scoop. Took less than an...

Oops. Pulled out the standpipe and laterals.

I was getting ready to do my annual spring deep cleaning of the sand filter, and managed to pull the standpipe and laterals out along with the multiport. The o ring had a pretty good grip on the standpipe. Everything came out intact, but now I have to get it back in. 1. Is there an easy way...

I have a swimquip sand filter with a StaRite 14962 Multiport. Last summer, and now as I'm trying to do some cleanup, I noticed small debris and green stuff shooting out of the returns when I use the vacuum. So, I took the multiport off, and took it apart. I also did a deep clean while I had...

    Leak!!!

Welcome to TFP. Going for the simple answer, but have you tried tightening the connection? I had a similar issue, and just needed to tighten the connection. It may be hard to access with a regular wrench. I used a strap wrench, very carefully, to avoid over-tightening.

    Channeled Sand?

Hi Everybody! I've been lurking a couple of years, using the TFPC method, and it's been great. We bought this house with a pool in 2011, and I've been learning a lot. Since opening this year, I've noticed that the returns are spitting out pieces of what I've recently vacuumed, like leaf...
