My pump is only a few years old. The mounting bracket on the bottom of the pump rusted away and I cannot secure it to the base anymore. The pump runs as strong as it did on day 1. There has to be a way to secure it somehow. Anyone have any ideas? I cant be the first person this has happened to!

I did that one time, but it was a water bed.... not pretty!

I'm striking out everywhere I look for a 21x54 round pool beaded liner. Pool stores around me cant find any and I need to replace mine. Anyone have any suggestions where to find one?

Here's a couple pics from this morning. All the things in the pool have been in there for 24 hours. A couple very small patches. The biggest one didn't just poof away. It smeared.

Lost 3 FC overnight this time. Not sure if rain has anything to do with that, but we had a pretty severe thunderstorm dump a good amount of rain about an hour before testing.

CC is still 0 and the water is clear. I do still have very small patches of the yellowish brown fine substance on the bottom. No where near what it used to be.

CYA is below 30 because I vacuumed to waste what I thought was dirt and dust that the filter wasn't catching. 4 times. Stuff came back with a vengeance and had to vacuums every 2 days. Had to refill after each time. It would disappear if I disturbed it. It was a yellowish brown/green color...

Here's a couple. The small algae spots at in the shadow of the railing.

The water is pretty clear. There are 2 very small patches on the bottom. Just swept it again. I can attach some pics if it helps.

No problem. Adding 3-5 cups of bleach every couple hours. FC drops to 9 and I have to keep pushing it back over 10.

Do not add that all at once. Start with 2 pounds and then test and adjust from there. Trust me! I added the 5 pounds that PoolMath said to add and it was WAY too much. I had to drain half the pool and refill it two times....

Your pool store should have rubber plugs with a wing nut on the top. You'll need a #9 size. Plug the hole and tighten the wing nut until the hole is sealed...

Something you should be aware of... When you add the CYA, DO NOT add it all at once! I did and the level was WAY higher that it was supposed to be. Add half and wait a few days, then adjust from there. I had to drain half the pool and refill twice to get it back down to where it had to be...

I can deal with it! lol Added the salt today. Test in the morning to see how high the FC is. Set the SWG at 80% to start the fine tuning....

Drained half again today and refilled. Second time... CYA is now 70. Sweet! Now I gotta get the TA down to 60 from 100 and get the salt in the pool!

Definitely go low on the add! I just had to drain and refill 1/2 the pool twice....

It would be 11,700 gallons if I filled it to the rail, which of course I dont. 10,400 based on a 48" fill. I was debating having a pool store test it just for the fun of it to see how close I actually am to being right... Maybe Tuesday I'll do that. Not at 80 yet though. Today's test showed 100.

I assumed it was 20 because the black dot was still a bit visible in the tube when it was filled to the top (Taylor K2006). I plugged in all the numbers to PoolMath and the result was add 5lbs 3oz CYA to get to the target of 80. Obviously, I missed an entry somewhere that threw it off that...

One more question - since I added the CYA Friday, and it could take a few days to fully dissolve, is it possible the reading isn't accurate due to that?

And I was SO proud of myself too... Opened to a mostly clear pool, only had to vacuum twice and add some bleach to clear the water. Not bad for a guy that's never had a pool and had to stare at one all winter!

Casey - I did, although I put some bleach in and ran the pump for about 6 hours and then tested. woodyp - the SWG is not running yet. Havent added the salt yet because I'm not balanced out yet...
