Drop in salt cell for 4500 Gal water feature

Yep that is the one I was thinking of. Yes you are also correct that an inline would probably be better in the long run. I will have to pick up a VSR and see what kind of a circuit I can come up with. I didn't even think of that. Thanks all, I knew you guys would come through.

Drop in salt cell for 4500 Gal water feature

They make ones that will go up to 20000 gallons. We had a Saltron on our hot tub and it was awesome and we never had a problem with it. I was trying to keep a clean solution to the wiring of the SWCG. I just installed a Superflow VSP and it allowed me to get rid of that ugly archaic timer box...

Drop in salt cell for 4500 Gal water feature

One that doesn't require it to be plumbed into the pump lines. Like the kind you can buy for hot tubs. Units weren't wearing out so much as boards were burning up. No power on conditions and things like that. Some after just a few months, others just after the 1 year warranty period.

Drop in salt cell for 4500 Gal water feature

We have a 4500 gallon water feature with 3 water falls. We want to convert it to salt and are looking at some sort of drop in SWG. Unfortunately looking at the internet just leads to buyers anxiety as a lot of the reviews are discouraging. Most of which revolve around reliability. Tons of...

    Complete pool equipment replacement

HEY folks need some advice from you guys. Moved from AZ to Florida last year and bought a used house, a very used house. After having to unexpectedly replace all of the appliances we are finally ready to tackle the pool. It has been running but poorly. Single speed 1 1/2 HP Hayward pump, a...

I have a hole with nothing to go in it

Im hoping that draws some attention. We have a bahama step with a plastic grommet type hole in it. It looks like it may be there for a table or an umbrella. The problem is we cant find anything to fit. I measured the diameter last year, but forgot the measurement. Somewhere around 2 inch though...

    Need a new SWG

Hey Jason I see that CompuPool also makes the systems sold as CircuPool. The CircuPool seems to have some extra options. Would it be worth it for the extras? Im guessing its like comparing a Toyota to Lexus

    Need a new SWG

Weve had this pool going on 3 years. Its a 14K gallon plaster pool with a Polaris SWG. It has never really worked correctly and doesn't appear to have ever been a popular system. We had the system replumbed last year to replace some broken valves and add in a heater. This year we want to add...

My pool water is wet and thats about the only good thing

4 years old So after fiddling with this for a couple of weeks, my Cl is around 3-4, my PH is around 8 and it just doesn't want to go down. TA is still around 150 and my CYA is on the rise as it is now at 50.

My pool water is wet and thats about the only good thing

I understand what your saying and I'll pick up some acid and bleach. Now the guy said that the reason we always have to clean the SWG is because the phosphates are too high and this gives the calcium in the pool something to cling to and build up on the fins of the SWG. Is this possible or not?

My pool water is wet and thats about the only good thing

ok last year had a heck of a time keeping the water clear and the SWG working. Most times it said that we needed to add salt. So I would clean the fins with acid and it would work for a day. Then started to get algae blooms (I believe black and mustard) dumped a lot of chemicals in it to clear...

    Broken valve

When we bought our house we had 2 valves that had one ear broken off. One for the slide and one for the waterfall. Well today my wife broke the other ear off the waterfall valve and I'm sure the other ear for the slide will go soon. Looking at what I have is my only course of action here to...

New guy in need of some SWG help

Here is an update...after waiting for almost 2 months for the control box, it finally arrived. Plugged it in and I now have a beautiful sparkling pool again. Chlorine is a little high so we are in the process of dialing it in, but no more algae and it looks awesome. I will say that the Polaris...

Thanks WB I was wondering about that. I just haven't been posting a lot of numbers until I get this SWG running. I'll just continue testing with my cheapy Pool Pals water test kit until I can pick up one from here. I just don't trust the guys at Shasta or Leslies. I took a sample in and said I...

***update*** I received the board yesterday, but it was the control board. As I went to replace it, I noticed a burnt IC and transistor on the power board. I called them and they are going to send out an entire controller. The Customer Service lady also told me to just keep the other new...

    Equipment comparison

Thanks for the information I appreciate it. I got the horsepower idea from this site after reading several threads. Basically that the power consumption from a 1.5hp verses a 2hp is less and the 2hp doesn't give you that much more flow is what I took away from the thread. So all I was doing was...

    Equipment comparison

I currently have the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 420 filter with the Whisper Flow wfe-8 2 hp pump. This system is approximately 2 years old. I also have a Jandy CL460 filter and a JHP 1.5 pump. These components are 6 months old. I like the Jandy pump better because the basket is about twice...

New guy in need of some SWG help

Just a quick update. I called Polaris Pools and talked to their help desk and after a few minutes of sharing what I have done, they decided that I need a new circuit board. They are honoring their warranty and sending one to me. Hopefully that will take care of the issue.

Thanks PS I think I have the pool temp set ok right now. I need to double check the actual pool temp and verify, so we'll see. We have it set on a 24 hour boost right now. Hopefully this darn thing can get caught up and stay true. I think I read on another forum that you had hired a Polaris...
