Mortar or Construction adhesive for pool coping?

I realize the adhesive is much less labour intensive and that's probably why my pool builder prefers this method, but he said it's more practical in colder climates. Said it performs better than concrete through many freeze/thaw cycles. Would love to hear your thoughts/experience with each?

Building above automatic safety cover hatch (pit)

Ours will also be an undermount. Are you able to stand on the coping on the SS brackets? Not that i would want to, but that's my worry that somebody would that didn't know they shouldn't. Also, isn't it a pain to access the pit? Are you removing each coping stone one by one?

Building above automatic safety cover hatch (pit)

We've decided to go ahead and get our pool done this summer but my wife has insisted on an automatic safety cover as we have a little guy running around. Now I'm having trouble deciding how to build around the pit of where the cover will be housed. I initially planned on putting a sun deck at...

Pool Desgin - Need expert advice please

Im also from the toronto area (Burlington). Curious to know which builders you've spoken to. I also understand you're viewpoint. All builders I've spoken to but one, use tigerflex. I'd like to stay away from it if at all possible. Try Gib-San if you haven't already. Was pretty impressed...

Rate my Design. Changes or suggestions?

There's good line of sight from the 'breakfast area' sliding door as well as the kitchen window. Changing area is definitely something we'd like to incorporate, and a bathroom would definitely be a 'nice to have' feature, but not sure how I'd make it work in my space. Still wondering about...

Rate my Design. Changes or suggestions?

Sorry, should have mentioned I live in Toronto, Canada. So will need to winterize the pool as well. We have a 6' pressure treated fence, but the homes behind us are 2 stories and aside from the fence there isn't the much in the way of privacy from neighbors. I'd add a photo but I'm out of...

Rate my Design. Changes or suggestions?

Thanks for the comments, very helpful. I'll try to address each question to add more clarity. Yes, the stepping stones area will be natural grass. I don't mind the little bit of extra work as I do not want to cover the entire yard with pavers. Outdoor living space will not be covered. The...

Rate my Design. Changes or suggestions?

Lot is not deep at all, but is wide enough to give us options. Also not sure where to put the pool equipment. Likely inside the Cabana. The little rectangles by the pool are stepping stones on natural turf. The cabana, dining and seating area will be finished with paving stones. Also not...

    Trees

I am also from the Toronto area (Burlington) and am also looking into this as well. My property line is fairly close to my neighbours and am looking for something that grows bout 20' and provides privacy. Pool builder suggested a row of Ivory Silk Lilacs, but I'm afraid when they flower the...
